Well darn, there goes that planned activity!
Guess I'll have to do it at noon. ;)

If a person has more than 3 DWI's then they are given a hot pink license plate to be placed on their vehicle. Also, the first 3 letters must be DWI.

That is insane...

Footballer

What's insane is letting someone drive after getting three DWI's.

All but one of Alaska's dumb laws are about bears(3 of the 4 being about a moose :-\ )

I think after the third time you should get jail-time up to five years. I lost a step-brother by a drunk driver and the guy had four DWI's and they only took his license away for two years. That was his punishment not having no licenses for two years, when we had the serve punishment of losing somebody we really loved by a dumb@$$ that was drunk.

When I was a kid we lived in Cross County, and at the time (they may have done away with it by now), there was still a law on the books in Wynne that you had to call the city hall (assuming you had a phone) and notify them if you'd be bringing your motorized vehicle to town so they could make sure all the horses were tied up first. My dad actually called Wynne's city hall once and notified them that he'd be driving there. The poor clerk he talked to had no idea what he was talking about.

Here's one from that website:

Assorted counties such as Craighead, Faulkner, and etc. are designated dry.

+randolph..

Crawford county is also unfortunately dry.

Hot Spring county, Clark county, Grant county are also dry.

Add Pope (Russellville), Yell (Dardanelle), Johnson (Clarksville), and White (Searcy) to that list.

It makes so much sense to have everyone driving to another county for their booze.  I especially like the idea of people driving to another county on Saturday night, going through a drive-through because they have ran out or want to stock up for Sunday (because all of Arkansas is dry on Sundays) and then driving 10 to 20 minutes back to their county.

Tho this is never enforced. I know for a fact. I would love to have that enforced tho. Would make my job alot easier.

None of these are really. Alot of these; if not all are OLD OLD OLD outdated laws that legislatures were to lazy to do away with.

4 DWI's is a felony in AR. 3rd offense is punishable with jailtime. I believe 1 DWI in Texas is a felony. I wish it were that way here.

Here is Arkansas' punishment by offense.

FIRST OFFENSE DWI:

One day to one year in jail and a fine of $150 up to $1000, plus court costs of $300.00. The court has the discretion to order public service in lieu of jail.
SECOND OFFENSE DWI:

Seven days to one year in jail OR no less than 30 days community service and a fine of no less than $400 nor more than $3000.00, plus court costs of $300.00.

THIRD OFFENSE DWI:

90 days to one year in jail OR no fewer than 90 days of community service and a fine of not less than $900.00 and no more than $5,000.00.
FOURTH OFFENSE DWI:

A fourth-offense DWI is a felony in Arkansas. One year to six years in the state penitentiary OR not less than one year of community service. $900 to $5000.00 fine.

FIFTH OFFENSE DWI:

A fifth-offense DWI is also a felony in Arkansas. Two years to ten years for the fifth or subsequent offense in the state penitentiary OR not less than two years of community service. $900 to $5000.00 fine.
Arkansas DWI arrestees may be subjected to an ignition interlock requirement, but curiously, only those who can afford it are subject to this restriction. If an ignition interlock is ordered following an Arkansas DWI conviction, then you can drive only cars with interlock devices for up to one year after the person's license is no longer suspended or restricted.

These penalties are not imposed by the court system. In fact the judge cannot lessen or change these penalties. They are imposed entirely outside the criminal courts by the Arkansas Dept. of Finance and Administration.

My favorite is that in Arkansas it is illegal to skin a hog and burn it's hide.
