Their 7th grade team wasn't bad this year.  Jr. High team was so - so.  Paragould has the misfortune of playing in the 5A East every year which means they're dealing with Batesville and Wynne at the top of the conference.  Nettleton, Blytheville, and Forrest City always have athletes and can compete.  Valley View has been a little slow in adjusting to 5A football since moving up but will be ok which leaves you with Greene County Tech and Paragould battling at the bottom of the conference.  Paragould will be a tough place to be successful.

They do have a very nice field and indoor facility that I would put up against just about any team in the state.  I think the community and district are behind the program, they just have trouble finding athletes to make things happen.

Young guy.  Was QB of the Jessieville state championship team in 2007.  I believe he played some college ball at Arkansas State but I may be wrong on that.  Has been offensive coordinator at Lakeside for past few years

Post I seen on Twitter called him the receivers coach for lakeside?

correct me if I am wrong but only 10 jobs opened after this point in time last year. That would put this year as 14 less jobs than last year. Really thought this year would be a record year in coaching changes......guess it still could be.

Hiring out of state coaches kept this from being a banner year of coaching changes.

He was not a hometown guy. He did spend 7 or 8 years there though. Perhaps you are thinking of Jerry Langston? He is from Strong and was on the coaching staff for the Dixon and co. state title team. He is now an administrator at El Dorado.

I think he is just behind coach besancon of hazen. Not 100% sure but I think. *note the 2009 season for hazen was a 12-1 season cause cedar ridge and marvel both forfeited to hazen and fearless don't count those two as wins.

I've just learned that Hector has hired Kyle Russell to replace Mark Taylor.

Shocking...  ::)

Their former coach - Chris Norton - is the new head coach at Lake Village, per Twitter and a post on the 4A board...

Shout out to former Lumberjack Chris Norton. New head football coach at Lake Village.

I'll ask again - anybody have a clue what Harrisburg is doing?  Also, anybody have news on Strong?

I counted 42 changes at the head coach position. Is that a record? I don't remember this many in years past.

Strong - TBA
Dollarway - TBA
Marvel - TBA
Gosnell - TBA
Drew Central - TBA
Mansfield - TBA

Strong has hired Greg Anthony, an El Dorado assistant.  Great hire by them!   Gosnell has a board meeting tomorrow night, job will be filled at that time.  The Dollarway job has never been posted, has it?  I think all signs point to Lee Hardman taking over.

I'd imagine Drew Central and Mansfield are filled before dead period ends.  Marvell - who knows?

Plus we have him Kenny Phillips listed on here.

I read this for the junior high info:

Conflicting data.  But I think you two are correct.  I think info was behind.

You can win there consistently... Not saying be as good as a Des Arc in that conference, but with the right coach I think someone could expect to finish in the top 5 to make the playoffs consistently there.
