You have more to worry about than talking more smack about someone that you are not going to have to prove it on the field against.....

You boys have a Greenwood team that was humbled by one of those "weak" 7A teams tonight......and I think you guys just got circled on the schedule........

Why don't you do something different and run down someone that you will have to prove it on the field against.....

ARDA2

Weird..Big Show deleted the entire post and subject heading regarding Har-Ber who won tonight.  what is that all about?

Atleast RD and the Greenwood bunch will give credit to an extent and be polite.

You know Shiloh fans will still claim that they're Gods.

Fella's............Those guys ran their mouth last year like they invented football.......

I have said for years that they are/were a whale in a fishbowl.......

Unfortunately for them, there is a new whale in the pond and his name is Greenwood.......and he is p!ssed off!!!!!

Big_Show

Bring them on... Have alot of respect for Greenwood. They give Shiloh a chance to prove itself as one of the best teams in the state regardless of classification just like last season.

They aren't scared to play Shiloh unlike some programs   ::) are because of the possibility of being embarrassed by a 3A school.

Well we have them good and riled up for you.......but you are going to need more than respect.....

Oh, and IMO, Shiloh won't be one of the Top 15 teams in the state this year........you guys will be playing just to get to your conference schedule.......

Greenwood is the only team on your schedule that would give you any statewide respect outside of the 3A.....

Unfortunately for you guys....Greenwood now needs to make a statement.....and I think that they want to write it on Shiloh Christian stationery.......

Greenwood by 21......for a ketchup packet.......are you in??..??..??

As I said in my post....."Greenwood is the only team on your schedule that would give you any statewide respect outside of the 3A"..... you must, IMO, beat Greenwood to gather enough momentum in the polls to offset your otherwise weak schedule in the 3A....

Teams who are banging heads with the likes of Southside, LRC, Bryant, Fayetteville, Warren, Texarkana, Bentonville, Nashville, Greenwood, Harrison, Northside, West Memphis, Pulaski Academy, Camden Fairview, North Little Rock, etc......will carry more weight than a schedule that includes Elkins, Pea Ridge, Gravette, etc......again...IMO.....

A win against Greenwood is critical for Shiloh.........

7AFBFAN

Early season ranking mean nothing. I think SS and Rogers were ranked 12 and 14 last year to begin the season and Greenwood was something like 3 or 4 in 5A. Shilo should start every year as number one in the 3A based on past success. Just curious but what is the series record between Greenwood and Shilo?

Fanofallfootball

The series record is 2-1 Greenwood.  The first game Greenwood defeated Shiloh by a big margin.  The second year Greenwood won by 1 point.  Last year Shiloh won by 1 point.

There is NO DOUBT that 7A and other schools in larger classifications SHOULD garner more respect in the polls and SHOULD defeat smaller schools, especially a school with less than 200 students in the high school versus schools with up to 3,000 students in enrollment.  THAT IS THE AMAZEMENT OF SHILOH CHRISTIAN.

I respect the higher classifications and have contributed tens of thousands of dollars to support their athletic programs (as a business owner) all over western Arkansas.  This in addition to all the tax and employment revenue my business has generated for them.

The point remains that while we have some great programs which I support in the 7A, 6A, 5A, etc.  Shiloh is consistently one of the best programs in the state and has garnered more regional and national recognition than most of the schools in our now watered down 16 member largest classification.

This is a 7A board and I apologize in advance for responding to a 7A guy who needs a life and spends his time on the 5A and 3A boards harassing fans of the lesser classifications.  Not everyone can (rural schools) or chooses (private schools) to be a 7A student.  All should enjoy the great game of football!

Good luck to all the 7A teams but especially our NWA schools!!

Not to split hairs with you Fanofallfootball.....but this inflammatory thread was started by a 3A guy who's intent was to harass fans on a 7A board........And then your friend Big Show jumped in with this comment:

"Bring them on... Have alot of respect for Greenwood. They give Shiloh a chance to prove itself as one of the best teams in the state regardless of classification just like last season.

They aren't scared to play Shiloh unlike some programs    are because of the possibility of being embarrassed by a 3A school.".........

And then of course came your unsolicited comment here on the 7A board:

"WRONG AGAIN - Baitshop.  Shiloh is already #15 in second week of polls.".......

Now, having pointed these items out, I think that if you will review my posting history as a whole, you will find that I have a had a healthy exchange of ideas and opinions with good folks from several of the classifications......I am not quick to anger and don't usually hold a grudge long, if at all (take a look at the SS/Rogers and SS/GW threads from '06 and '07)...... However, I have a difficult time with a FEW of one school in particulars posters who are arrogant and disrespectful towards towns, teams, fans, and coaches that their team has beaten either recently or in the past.......and I choose to not let their condescention go without comment........and will continue to not let it go without comment.....

In many ways I am like the great majority of folks here on Fearless Friday....and you....I am a fanofallfootball......

fanofallfootball, what makes the 16 team classification watered down? The best of the 16 we lost is Texarkana and last time Southside played Texarkana they mercy ruled them. So, I hope you can understand how this logic does not float based on a number. I would have to say though without a doubt that the 64 team 3A is definitely watered down. With exception of Shilo most guys playing in that classification would be hard pressed to start on a 7A teams JV. And in case you haven't figured it out Northwest Arkansas schools get all the hype year in and year out regardless of the sport and to my knowledge with exception of Shilo and the one year for Springdale they hardly ever live up to their expectations. To me the STAR status lives in the minds of the Shilo people and a lot of other people in Northwest Arkansas.

Agreed.  Every year each half of the 7A beats up on each other, then the best rises thru the playoffs to be the 7A State Champion.  Now, I also agree that every other Class does the same thing, so they feel they can claim that elusive "overall best in the state" title.  Maybe in some years a Shiloh can be justified in saying that, just not as often as they claim.

Here is MO why.  Warren and Shiloh are good examples of smaller classification teams that are loaded with good athletes, probably more than most 7A teams this year.  Still, in most years, 7A schools will have more quality athletes, in more member schools.  The problem is that Shiloh won't be playing Central, Bentonville, Bryant, Fayetteville, Southside etc. EVERY WEEK, to prove they can beat the biggest and best EVERY Friday, and not just in the finals of a particular tournament.  This is not a dig on smaller schools, just pointing out the law of large numbers.  Boise State was a perfect example last year.  They went undefeated in conference[I think], then beat the Sooners.  I don't think anyone believes they would have gone undefeated in the PAC-10 or SEC.  I don't think most folks believe they would have won a rematch against Oklahoma, but in a one game deal- anything goes.  You gotta beat the best week in, week out to be called the best.  That's what happens in 7-A.

Fanofallfootball

Take the top four out of 7A and you can usually throw the rest in a pool that would only be competitive with the leaders in the other classifications.

But this is as futile as the argument of playoffs in college football.  The necessary things will not happen to settle the questions.

Thankfully we can all choose the team that we enjoy watching on Friday nights.  For me, though I could because of my business interests and sponsorships choose any of the great 7AWest, that school is Shiloh.  The offense is always exciting, even in a loss.  The atmosphere, food (FUDRUCKERS), fans make it an environment that I can take my family to.  The team will have athletes year in and year out, not just once a decade.  And the head coach is not going anywhere anytime soon - Dr. Floyd wants to watch his grandsons play football!  JMO

I salute all for supporting your team and your kids.  It is great for Arkansas.

I think that it is fairly obvious what topic the " . " references.....

It is a classic discussion about the "Man" keeping the "little guy" down, and the socioeconomic consequences and implications of that struggle......And, of course, the attempt, of the "Man" to educate the "little guy" on why his desire to be an equal with the "Man", while commendable, is an unrealistic and fruitless endeavor based on the obvious disparity in numbers, stamina, and size (hence.....the "little guy" )

But the true genesis of this conversation is a feeling amongst some of the "Men" that the "little guy", at least one specifically, is.........as my wonderful Momma used to say......"getting a little big for his britches".........

Unfortunately, our particular "little guy" is a tad bit head strong.....and as such, he is not receiving the information as well as was hoped for.........

Hopefully, papaeagle, this explanation will catch you up on the meaning of the " . ".......feel free to join in if you have anything of value to add........
