It has taken me a little while, but I have finally figured out why a bunch of fans of a team that has two losses, hasn't won a Championship in 6 years and is playing a team from a lower classification is acting like they are this week..........

We ARE your Super Bowl. You know you can't win the 7A State Championship....You have to hang your hat on beating the team of the decade....you have to beat the Hillbillies to say you have done something......you have to beat little brother to feel better about yourself because you have nothing else to hang your hat on..lol lol lol lol lol I get it now.....

You keep up the dream that is beating the U of G. I understand that now we ARE your Big Game......I hope some day that you will be ours and we can recipricate your anxiety induced posts.

Let's clear a couple things up:

Our two losses. Both to big boy teams by a combined four points. One of those losses was to a team that beat you by 70 points in two years. Our nonconference win? To the team you'll see in the state championship. And we beat them by 17. We always start slow and end hot. This is nothing new for us. Our season has ended the last four years to Bentonville or Fayetteville. Two schools with better dynasties and much better programs than Greenwood.

2008: 7A State Championship Appearance
2009: 7A State Championship Appearance
2010: Lost to 7A Semifinals
2011: Lost in 7A Semifinals to State Champion

Yes, our last state title in Big Boy land was in 2006. But we've played and beat teams each of those years that would curb-stomp Greenwood. We haven't been playing scrubs like you guys playing for 33rd place or in this current conference....

Once upon a time we scheduled a Big Boy team, beat said Big Boy team and then the Big Boy team would not schedule us again because they were scared........

Now the AAA makes us play them and all week their anxiety filled posts about how they made it to the semi finals fills our screens. Then I discover that their administration wants to be placed back in the 7A West so they don't have to play us every year. You see, if they don't play us, they can spout off at the key board about how good they are......tic toc

"IF" Greenwood loses this week they will beat Conway next week meaning the polls will even out..."IF" Greenwood wins this week chances are they could lose next week and again the polls even out for them...I just don't see Greenwood winning both games against SS and Conway...but I also would bet the farm they don't lose both either. Say what you want, but Rick doesn't lose two in a row very often...

I always thought that polls were fairly stupid anyway. If you have a playoff system in place then the "POLL" will be settled in the end. I also wish we would have a playoff system where the top 3 classes would play for an overall state title after the regular playoffs were over. that would settle this 7A/6A/5A thing once and for all...and do the same with 4A/3A/2A...or maybe just do 7A vs. 4A and 5A vs. 6A and then let the two winners play...that would be cool...

Truth is SS is a mid to low level 7A school. You have no more to bring to the table than a high level 5A or 6A school. I doubt SS would have even won State in the 5A last year. It appears to me that the coaches at SS are happy with simply being average. Otherwise, this power house team that I keep hearing about would have maybe a little more noise the last few years.

Another theme I've note while reading this crap, about who has beaten who.  Both teams have played basically the same conference teams, (with the exception of Conway), and against common opponents the scores look pretty similar.

Should be a good one tomorrow night.
