At least you're winning the WC. Only 1 back of the Reds too.

It's crazy how totally different the standings are from my franchise to yours.

Very frustrating loss. I was crusing right along until McClellan came in and was AWFUL and gave up 3 runs in the 8th. And I lost in the 10th on a ground ball to second where my second baseman slid on his but to catch the ball with two outs and a runner on 3rd and  booted it so the run scored. Frustrating indeed.

Greinke was AWESOME. His pitch count got high in the 8th and I brought Reyes in with two on and Howard up and he got him to ground out. Motte came in and struck out the new two with runners on 2nd and 3rd to keep the shutout going. Franklin had an easy 1-2-3 9th to send the Cardinals on to the NLCS!

Wainwright pitched great around awful umpiring in which he couldn't get a called strike to save his life. Up until the 7th I had only 3 more strikes than balls. DeRosa and Molina each hit a 2 run HR in the 2nd to put the game away early. Molina added another in the 4th and Pujols hit a 3 run shot in the 9th. Great way to start off the series against a team I went 2-5 against in the regular season.

Hudson hit a triple off the wall and a throwing error allowed him to score for there only two runs and Jones came back in the next half inning and crushed a 2 run shot to tie it up. In the 6th with a runner on 2nd they walked Pujols to bring up Ludwick and he smashed one off the wall to score two and to put us ahead for good. Going back to St. Louis with a two game lead!

I played this game earlier today when the site was down so I don't have the batting overall totals cause they don't show up when you bring the box score back up. But after hitting all of 1 home run the entire season Skip Schumaker hit a huge 2 run shot to take the lead in this one. Nice to get one in Boston.

It's crazy how hot you've gotten. It's like you've actually been better with the game on All Star.

dc24

Looks like it was a great ball game.

Its the new batting approach that I had to switch to after I moved up thats working so well. I'm in the 4th inning of game two right now.

I used to look zone and pitch all the time for every batter. Now I only look zone and pitch for a few batters until I get a strike then I just look low in the zone becasue I've noticed a ton of pitches get thrown there. And then I don't guess what type of pitch is coming I just try and hit it.

That's interesting. They do throw a lot low, especially later in the count. I always guess zone and pitch though.

WHAT. A. GAME. I got a double in the bottom of the 9th down one with no outs and tried to SAC him over but Paps threw the ball away allowing me to tie the game. Then in the top of the 10th I allowed a 2 run HR to Drew off the foul pole. It was as close to going foul as can be, it hit off the outside of the poll. Then in the bottom of the 10th Albert hits a one out single and Ludwick comes up and blasts a 2 run shot to tie the game. Insanity. Then in the bottom of the 12th Rasmus leads off with a single up the middle. On the next pitch he steals second and Varitek throws the ball into center allowing Rasmus to move up to 3rd with no outs. The Sox move their infield in and Albert hits a scorching ground ball up the middle that Lugo dives and snags and throws to home just a step to late as Rasmus slides in with the winning run. Wow.
