Ninja Gaiden was stupid hard.  And the ending boss was bullcrap.  I think it took me from morning until night when I was younger to get through it.  I've only had one game pee me off as bad as Ninja Gaiden.  Ghosts and Goblins.  If you have high blood pressure, I wouldn't recommend playing it.  The ending to that was an absolute middle finger from the developers.  "Oh, so you beat the game, huh?  Think you're pretty good?  Yeah, now do it again."

Haha..I've never played the original Ninja Gaiden, but the newer ones on the Xbox are definitely not slacking when it comes to difficulty.
