Week 1 Star City vs Lonoke.

It's really hard to believe we kick off the season a week from tonight! This series has had some good games over the past few years, this season should be no different.
A look back.
Star City is 4-1 against Lonoke, with the only loss in the 2010 Hootens Classic at UAPB. In that game, S C trailed big at halftime. They would try to complete the comeback in the second half, but it just wasn't meant to be. We got as close as 32-26 with a little under 2 minutes to go in the game. Lonoke had 4th down from their on 20, and would go 80 yards on a run straight up the middle for a touchdown, and that was it. Lonoke 38, S C 26.
The following year in 2011, we got redemsion and won 21-7.
The 2012 game in Lonoke was played in a downpour. Star City prevailed in a wild one 44-35.
The following year in S C was probably the best one of this series so far! Star City jumped out to a 13-0 lead. It stayed that way until the third quarter. Lonoke got a long kickoff return by Blake Mack to start the third, then would score on a quarterback keeper to make it 13-7. After an S C 3 and out, Lonoke got the ball back again. They would put a long drive together, and would score a touchdown and kick the extra point to take a 14-13 lead. It stayed that way until late in the 4th. With 2 minutes to go, S C kicked a field goal, and would hold on 16-14.
Last years game went back and fourth until really late second half and we finally pulled away in the 4th, 31-18!
S C is averaging 27.6 ppg in this series, and giving up 22.4.
What will happen this year? We'll find out! Go Dogs!

I don't know. From what I have heard, Lonoke is supposed to be pretty good this year. Might not be as easy as some think for SC. Will be a great game though.

You better have some talent upfront to hang with Star City this year. Lonoke is one of those teams that it's hard to tell just how good they will be. I know their QB and RB are very good and they could be one of those surprise teams this season. I think Star City wins this one

Lonoke will be scrappy no matter what. SC will not cakewalk through this game.

Lonoke has some good skill position players but has to replace some linemen from last year's team, so with it being the first game the Bulldogs should win this one IMO. The Jackrabbits seem to always a team that plays better late in the season anyway.

Oh no the SC homerism is known state wide on the radio broadcast. The Warren broadcasters aren't that famous yet!

Yep, most teams announcers are understandably homers. Nothing wrong with that at the high school level.
