The first high school football game to be played this season will be between the Ricebirds of Stuttgart and the Badgers of Arkadelphia. Last year this game was competitive for a half with the Ricebirds nursing a slim lead for most of the first half. After half though the Badgers opened the floodgates and a competitive game turned into sportsmanship rule running clock by the end of the third quarter.

This year's game looks to be more competitive and should be a good one to watch and great way to open the 2015 Arkansas high school football season. Anyone wanting to view this game will need to be at War Memorial Stadium no later than 5pm on August the 31st.

An argument could be made that the Warren athletics staff was too dumb to open all the entrance gates. Of course no more fans than there were on the home side, I can see why they would not think it was necessary.

I'm guessing they were trying to enter the gate east of the field house and bathrooms. Isn't the main gate on the west side?

Oh my goodness this game can not get started quick enough. I sure will be glad when the Ricebirds finally take the field and the " Rise of the Machine" begins in earnest so I can stop pretending to be humble. The Badgers are a worthy foe and both teams will be the better for having squared off against each other. I look forward to seeing the full measure of support from Arkadelphia. Bring it. Bring it All!!!!

Sounds like Arkadelphia did take a big hit on defense losing those two DT's and MLB. No doubt Hughes has some talent but the Badgers are going to see several good RB's this season.
