Gravette 76 Pottsville 63 +13
Pottsville 77 Maumelle 67 +10

So, Gravette by by 23 over Maumelle tonight?

Yep, I believe that is correct.  Especially since the transitive property always applies to sports.

WPWells

How bad did Maumelle beat Pottsville the first time around?

Ten

WPWells

Transitive property is the most ridiculous argument ever (and that's coming from a math major)

Ballplayer

Im usually offering up my predictions at this time but dont know enough about the other teams, i will say win or lose PG/dardanelle will be pretty close, the 6 point win in the championship against Farmington was a blow out when it comes to PG games. The Farmington team from last year was a #1 seed and we saw what happened there.

Unless you are coming up 59 from VB, this is a simple drive.  Take the MLK Exit off 540 in Fayetteville and turn west on what is aka as HWY 62.  You will go through Farmington, P Grove and then you will come into Lincoln.  The school is easy to find.

From 540, you'll be there in 20 minutes.  There are a few spots to eat in Lincoln but not a lot.  Pay attention as you drive out of Fayetteville and through Farmington and PG for choices to eat.  If you are staying the night, I recommend right around the 540 exit in Fayetteville.  There are probably 10 hotels right there.

Wednesday
Game 1 4:00(G)- Prairie Grove vs Waldron

Maumelle 71 - Gravette 57 (B)  Right winner!  Off 9 on score differential!

Ozark 53 - Mena 49 (G)
Lincoln 61 - Subiaco 59 (B)
Farmington 55 - Dover 43 (G)

PG now leads by 1 with 13 secs left.

And that's how it ends. Waldron missed at the buzzer. 40-39 Lady Tigers.

WPWells

Wow! Better game than I expected for sure

Dardanelle was within 6 with2 minutes left in the game, held defensively for 3 possessions, and missed lay ups 3 times on the offensive end.  A much closer game than the final score reflects.  I must say that Dardanelle gave Tice fits at half court, and altered his game.

Nip/Tusk

Pg trailed by 3 after 1, but never trailed from then on. Never a doubt.

Great team effort.  Berryville stuck to it's game plan, and hit 3's effectively.

It gives us a little more of a home game atmosphere feel.

Just kidding, I have no idea why officers traveled to the game.

Hmm.  When they came to Booneville, they only had one.

Maumelle leads Gravette 19-10 after 1 quarter, per MHS's Facebook page.

I guess all 6A teams travel that way?  You know it's not because of any rescent crime wave in little ole barely 4A Lincoln.

Maumelle - 42
Gravette - 26

The Police are there to protect the maumelle players. Had some stupid people in other towns make some threats to our players.  No one in Lincoln or the 1-4a.  It was our conference, but they travel to protect our kids non the less.

It must have been the inverse of the transitive property. Maumelle won by 21.

+1 to the posters in this thread for all the updates.

And a shout out to the pg boys and girls who will both be advancing to the state tournament. A rare feat for schools.

For both teams advancing to state, that is a JOB well done to the school, players, and coaches. Also would like to add a great Job to the Berryville girls and Maumelle boys for advancing as well.

Pretty sure that Maumelle PD travels with their players because of the actions of so-called upstanding citizens and parents/students of opposing schools.  When school administration from other schools inappropriately interrupt games by walking onto the court and verbally attacking students, it's obvious that there are deep seated issues that require more attention and protection.  I have personally seen Officers have to protect the Maumelle players from opposing team's parents and students that were hurling racial slurs and trying to get too close to them.  I am very disappointed by the fact that the team needs to have that sort of protection so that the players can focus on the game and not have to worry about ignorant and uneducated people.  As a parent I am very grateful that they are there looking out for our kids.

Hasbeen33PR

lol are u kidding the video I saw had a policeman escorting a maumelle fan out of gym and a Maumelle player trying climb into stands. If what u say is true why don't all teams have 2 policeman and 2 parole officers travel with them?

Cajun Hog

Watch the PG cops as they were on each end of town last night (making money).  ;D Do the speed limit

HornetFan

The video you saw showed a Police Officer escorting a parent off the court after that parent had to defend his son from the school official that interrupted the game because that player was dominating the school official's children.  You are obviously one of those people that thinks that the one little thing you "witnessed from a video" showed the whole story.  That parent would not have had to be escorted anywhere if that school official had not acted so unprofessional in the first place.

Getting my notes together for tonight's broadcast of Pottsville and Farmington on the boys side.  I did want to take a moment and extend a giant high 5 to the Berryville Lady Bobcats in their win last night.  The "Lady Cats" demonstrated what can be accomplished when hustle combined with desire comes together with good fundamentals.  Hustle, as in Berryville seemed a step quicker to each lose ball: Desire as it seemed like the Lady Cats ended up getting almost all of the 50/50 balls on rebounds and: Fundamentals as in making freethrows, a bunch of them.  In my far from official book I had Berryville shooting freethrows 24/29, and at one time I had them as making something like 17/19.  That is a good formula for success.

Before the game tonight it will be Jim's Razorback Pizza.  I've been in Arkansas since 1985 but have never eatten there, suggestions welcome?

Jim's has been my favorite pizza place in Fayetteville for 20+ years, I'll be hitting them up again on Saturday. I'm a basic pizza kind of guy, but I'm pretty sure anything you get there will be good.

Nip/Tusk

If you like a little flare, the Spanish pie at Jim's is pretty good.

Cajun, the pg cops have nothing on those farm town boys. Lol.

There was a Lincoln cop sitting right in front of the gym last night.

Girls final, per Twitter, Ozark 56 Mena 37.

Unless Dover plays over their heads, the 4-4A girls will all be one and done.

Great team play by Lincoln.  There was no lid on the basket!

WPWells

Congratulations to Lincoln! Sad to see Subiaco go down and my friend's career with it, but he's going to the Naval Academy in the fall so there are much brighter things ahead of him

MA

Not many 6'7 kids that can go 8-11 from 3. Goldman is something no other team in the state has. 8 3 pointers, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. I'd like someone to tell me the last time those 3 stats happened in the same game. At any level. I'd say that's one of the better performances I've ever seen

Tomahawk

StevenGlen and I had a quite tasty Wild Hawg pizza at Jim's Razorback Pizza in Prairie Grove.

Right now we're watching Farmington girls take care of business vs. Dover.  Farmington is up 40-9 with 2:30 to play in the half.
