What is your case for Farmington in the 5A Boys?
I haven't seen them play but someone I trust told me they have a lot of size and will be at least a quarterfinalist in the 5A
If your prognostication is correct, that would be a significant jump from where they finished last year.
I would pick LR Central in 7A girls.
Locks are 1A girls - Nemo ; 4A girls - Riverview- better than last yr. & won state easily. If a game at state w/in 20 pts it'll be an upset
Riverview In the 4A Boys division would have to be atop the leaderboard for playing for all the marbles. Played Maumelle within 6 pts on a Neutral floor last week...
I am a Star City LadyDog fan through and through but after playing Riverview girls in the semis last year and knowing what they have coming back I do not understand how you don't have them as the pick to win it all in 4A???
In 5a girls valley view has been struggling, got mercy ruled by 1a bay I believe and several other close games or losses to teams not listed.

I Agree B92,
Fav has to be Rview, with PG, Star City, Ozark
In 5A - Nettleton and Batesville are tough, Mt Home girls have looked good also.

Yeah, not really sure where the 5A east is going to be this year (in the playoffs).
Being a Paragould fan, I appreciate the love for the girls ["5A Champs - Paragould"]. But I am not sure the Paragould girls will win the conference, much less state. I think they have good players and a great coach [Coach Cook], but I don't think they have the level of talent needed to win big.
On the other hand, the Paragould boys may be far more competitive. They have all the main scorers back [Brandon Clifford - 29 pts/game avg in 2015], with some good sophomores. And while Paragould lost their best defensive players from 2015, the 2016 team may have better OVERALL defense.
Paragould will go as Brandon Clifford goes; we are going to learn if Brandon learned anything from playing with the Arkansas Wings AAU team this past summer!

Love seeing hector on the list...but they're 6-7 and two conference losses
Beebe girls beat Paragould by 26 on a neutral floor and lost to Riverview by 4 in finals of a tournament last week. Riverview, Star City, or Prarie Grove should win 4A. Not saying Beebe girls will win it all but you may want to research 5A girls a little better.

Oh yeah...Hector girls beat Valley....Might have been a fluke, but it makes you scratch your head a little bit doesn't it?
5A was the class where I didn't know who to pick. Maybe if y'all would post information as it happened instead of waiting until I've posted and just bashing then I could make a more informed pick

Do the standings for them 8)
6A Girls-
Greenwood is 6-6 & Parkview is 3-6
Russellville is 11-0 with two very good seniors leading the way and a new Coach that is coaching like she's got something to prove.
Go Cyclones
5A East is one and done. Boys and Girls. The weakest conference. The only team that has a chance to advance will be Blytheville Boys. They are strong on defense but not sure they can score enough.
Hot Springs boys and girls will be there in 5a. The boys everyone has them there but our girls are 12-0 and beat some really good teams and they are young

Valley View and Forrest City's boys are better than Blytheville probably. I think they will be, anyway.
Wow you stink at this Fred... 3A Boys lol pure homer pick...
Nettleton considered in 5a? They might not even make the state tournament. A lot of issues with a lot of these picks.
Remember that these picks were made in December. I didn't see you post yours. What are your other issues?
If I got half of these correct then I'd consider it a major success
You consider 50% a major success?
Epc? According to some of their posters they will be lucky to get to the regionals. Hard to understand picking against hot springs in 5a. Little rock central girls have like 6 college players on their team. Picking against defending champ episcopal or the best player in 3a at cedar ridge. Paragould girls in 5a who are traditionally good but assuming you just put a name in there to fill a spot.
Again, I posted these in DECEMBER before most teams had even played a conference game
Fred, since some are giving you crap about YOUR early projections, maybe do a current list?
I will do that later. An updated projection list, if you will.
All of my picks are statistics based

Except 3A boys... Thats pure Homer...
It's not 100% homer, but statistically cedar ridge is the favorite

I kept 11 picks the same, changed 3, and removed and added several teams in "also considered"
Forrest City has no chance in 5A. Little Rock Christian does.
Also... The fact that you don't have Parkview on the list for possibly winning 6A is unreal. They probably have the most talent in Arkansas.
Meant to change PB to Parkview. My bad
Fred, no brinkley or clarendon boys? You know brinkley beat england at England, right? Just curious
Fred I think you got 2a right I think England or Earle I will go with Earle though.
Why do you have Emerson as the favorite in 1a?

England will not repeat
I don't really think they will either I think it's Earle to lose.
4A Girls I would go with Undefeated Riverview as favorite
Also considered Star City, PG, Estem, and Pottsville

Believe it when I see it.
I think their the favorite they could blow but if the do then it will be wide open I think no real dominate teams.
They didn't choke in 2012. I had a front row seat for that one...

That was 3A right? Since they have came back to 2A, all you hear in football is, "this is our year". Then they choke and it's "we will win in basketball". Then it's another choke and the cycle repeats.
That was 3a, they also lost to now defunct Hughes twice and to 1A Bay on a neutral site the same year but no one in 3a could play with them except Hardlng Academy but they were loaded and didn't keep it in single digits.
