Regarding Arkansas players going out of state:

I just have not found a reliable source to get this information. I have noted that several websites are good at listing the "Top College Prospects from Arkansas"; but once Signing Day comes, they do a really BAD job of listing where the players ACTUALLY signed. For example, I have seen several players listed as going out of state, when they actually went to D2 colleges.

Grond, didn't LRC have a lineman that signed with UA?

You are correct......sort of.  :-\

ESPN lists Dylan Hays [DT] from Little Rock Christian Academy as a COMMIT, not as SIGNED. Mr. Hays is not listed on several other signee websites, including the official Arkansas Razorback website (at least, I could not find him).

Here is how all this works (I think; feel free to correct me):

At D1-FBS level, a "signee" has received a full scholarship.

But a D1-FBS college is only allowed 85 full scholarships, and you really need 110+ players to have a functional, competitive college football program.

Consequently, there are also a number of "commits" or "recruited walk-ons" each year. They get treated like a signee, but they do NOT receive an athletic scholarship. The Commits CAN receive academic or Arkansas scholarships.

Finally, you have "walk-ons", who try out and make the team. However, they often do not get to practice with the team until school starts. If a walk-on makes the ROSTER, then he CAN start practice in early August with the Team.

Mr. Hays has achieved a great accomplishment, and certainly should be proud to be a Razorback.

Blytheville has one going to Eastern Illinois as far as out of state.  We also had a late signee to Lyon. Most of ours a lot of ours are going JUCO to Arkansas Baptist something like 6 or 7.

Yes, that is correct - there are scholarship athletes, preferred walk-ons, and walk-ons.  Well there are also greyshirts, which are soon-to-be scholarship athletes.  I just thought for some reason that he was offered a scholarship.
