What We Learned in Week 6
--Not as much as it appears, other than confirmation that Dover and Waldron seem to have slipped a bit. The Pirates are still in postion to move up the standings, though.

Week 5 Scoring Notes
--Victor Acc. 95.9%, Margin Acc. 10.6%
--The only misses this week were courtesy of a pair of Waldron picks. Even more notable, though, was that 5 of the 12 picks for Dardanelle actually nailed the margin! If not for a pair of missed PATs, Ozark would've had an even larger number of exact picks.
--Props to nastynice for this week's high score, being the only one to come even close to Pottsville's final margin last week, on top of being one of the five exactas above.

The drawbacks to turning in your picks at this point can really show up in the light of recent events.

Booneville (35) @ Waldron
For all the experience coming back, the Bulldogs sure seem to miss their top runner from last year. Fortunately, last week's setback at the Wikiup will have little consequence regarding playoff chances. Regardless, they'll want to start putting their best foot forward, especially with the Bearcats coming to town.

Pottsville (14) @ Dover
First sign of Friday the 13th: a "safety issue" closes class for a day and puts the status of your game up in the air. A few things come to mind over said incident, but that's for another time. Much is riding on this game, with the winner still on track to challenge for a home game in Week 11.

Subiaco @ Dardanelle (42)
Between the Hoco chaos this week and the temptation to look ahead to Booneville next week, there are plenty of ways for the Lizards to lose focus pending their showdown with the Trojans. Alas, I expect any such lapses to be temporary, at best.

West Fork @ Ozark (49)
A Dardy fan mentioned on the latest Lizard thread that weaker teams give you the kind of game where your players can be chewed out despite dominating the scoreboard. The Hillbillies' rout over Subi is a strong example of this: A total of 107 yards in penalties were assessed against them, with 87 in the first half. One scoring drive alone featured over 30 yards in penalties on the offense! It wouldn't be surprising to see a repeat of that considering Ozark's own Hoco stuff this week, but the undermanned Tigers will be even more hard-pressed to take advantage.
