It's spring and it means many are gearing up for hard work in off season, if not in baseball or track.

Who ya got??  Who is top contenders this year??

We all know Nashville, Warren and etc all have great football programs.

Honestly, hoping to see...yep, you guessed it Waldron improved although, they will be a fairly young team.

SUGARTOWN

Anyone know how many Pea Ridge lost? Their QB is back, correct? I would think they would be ranked pretty high going into next season.

dukes424

Tailback , Qb , fullback  and top two receivers are back and a good move in receiver with good size just showed up. Lost a few off the O line and a few off D I think as well as a linebacker and our safety . Should still have a pretty good line as Humphreys and others are stepping up getting strong. We are hoping  to make the play offs again.

cuckoobird

Make it to the playoffs then get skull drug when you finally play a decent team

dukes424

Now you are funny we will make it further then your team for the third year in a row. All the way to state - Go Hawks.....

cuckoobird

If you do, it will only be because of a lucky draw

dukes424

Nope we will have the playmakers to do it and one of the top Backs in the state, hopefully we will meet up.

STUNNA

Depending on QB play for Warren... they will most likely be the favorite to go back to back.

dukes424

I would agree and the Daniels back will be hard to replace. He was a fast hard running machine.

Arkadelphia is going to be very good next year. I pick them to win the 7-4A.

Pea Ridge should make another deep run.

Warren will be the heavy favorites and should repeat.

polksalet

Of Warren doesn't win, the town should be burned, salt tilled into the soil, and nerve gas sprayed to kill and bugs that make it.

Replacing Lassiter may be tougher than some folks think. He was far and away the MVP of that team last year.

Outstanding football player. The reason why Warren could repeat as state champs is the big boys up front. They can dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides with what they have coming back. Possibly the best lines Bo has ever had.

What are the ricebirds going to look like next season? Those lines were pretty nasty last year

Got to replace some linemen. Skill positions will be loaded, all 3 linebackers return and all d backs but one also return. If they get adequate line play they can be top 10 IMO.

With Price as the HC I am betting on it.

Joe T. Robinson returns a lot of talent. If QB develops watch out!

He said repeatedly last fall that his first job in the offseason was to recruit the hallways of SHS and get the numbers up. If he's successful there, they could be very good this year. We'll see.

Pocahontas looking at a season of learning. We have a lot of positions that were filled with seniors. Still will make a playoff run though.

Better off just sitting at home in week 11. That way you don't lose badly to a 5seed from any other conference. This is a top 4a contender thread, the 3-4a need not be mentioned ...

Ghs21

Gosnell will Be replacing a quarterback and a few running backs but should be a too of the top of the 3-4A and make a run in the playoffs. Still have a strong line and some nice running backs

Missco

Gosnell should still be 1 or 2 in the 3-4A but Partee transferring back to Blytheville will hurt.

Tigerdad2

Prairie Grove 54-10 in last 5 years. 3 semi-finals and 1 finals appearance.
22 point win over Gosnell and 21 point win over Pea Ridge last year. 9-2  vs. Pea Ridge all time . A lot coming back next year.

That remains to be seen, but the 2-4A did at least win more than one playoff game last year as a conference.

None of that matters now. Already heard two starters from last year will now focus on basketball. Expect more.

How many titles does the 3-4a have? We will include you when you get one of those

Honestly, with the O-line that's returning, Warren's next RB should have as easy of a year running as Daniels did.

I remember they played Watson Chapel in their first home game on their new turf last year. They won't get that luxury this year as they have to play at Watson Chapel this year. I wonder if the Lumberjacks will give up 36 points in the 3rd quarter again.

Well considering how Watson Chapel didn't even score 36 points in the entire game the answer is no. But I bet Watson Chapel will get beat by 20+ points again. They have become 4A's whipping boy.

Who's watson chapel and why are they being discussed on a football forum?

Okay, so I missed by 4 points and WC only scored 32. Warren was a good team last year, no doubt about it, and they'll be good this year as usual. I'd doubt however that they shut WC out in the first half this year. It should be a good game.
