Don't like to do any conference until we have all 2A scores. Will wait to do 2A tomorrow after Brinkley-Marvell is posted.

AT

Nevermind; updated for week 5 of conference play

HorseFeathers

Still a lot to settle in most of the conferences the next couple weeks

Greyhound#1

Can someone explain tie breaker rules for playoff seeding? For example in 3 way tie for 1st

baseball13

The one with the fewest points is eliminated then it goes to head to head. The most points you can get is 13. Add all the conference wins up and that's the points you have.

Example

Mountainburg - 6-1 - 93 TB Points
Magazine - 6-1 - 92 TB Points
Lavaca - 6-1 - 95 TB Points

Mountainburg beat Lavaca

Magazine beat Mountainburg

Lavaca beat Magazine.

Perfect triangle as it is called.

Take the top two in TB points...in this case, Lavaca and Mountainburg. Mountainburg beat Lavaca so they are 1 seed. Lavaca and Magazine would then be left, since Lavaca would have beat Magazine, Lavaca is 2 seed, Magazine is 3 seed.

Pick_DA_EAGLES

Carlisle has clinched a spot in the 6.

Standings this week on this thread will not be updated until Sunday. Sorry for the inconvenience.

It is totally ridiculous that schools with losing records make the playoffs. Cutting the 5 seed and possibly the 4 we could have this over in a couple weeks.

HorseFeathers

It's ridiculous that people are still whining 12 years after the schools voted for it to be this way 🤷

12 years ago it was probably ok. Most 2A schools still had decent numbers but 12 years later most don't. So why load 14 kids on a bus drive 2-3 hours to play #1 seed and lose by 50. Kinda stupid to me.

Salem didn't think it was stupid last year when they came to Hector as a 5 seed and took it to us

HorseFeathers

They could always forfeit like Helena did after a bus wreck last year?.... I mean obviously someone at these schools still consider it important enough to go play?

I mean...call up yourblocal a.d get the ball rolling on nobody below a conference champ makes the playoffs like the old days...

MomaLion

I know that we are always excited to get to playoffs because it hasn't happened in several years.  It gives kids that may not otherwise see the post season a chance to experience playoffs.  Yes, it's almost always a one and done, but you never know who will peak at just the right time and pull off a win.

Salem was 5-4 entering the playoffs. Big difference being 5 seed with winning record but not below.500.

there is not a big difference a 5 seed is a 5 seed. I don't care if you are 5-4 or 0-10. it is the same seed.

Let the kids play ball. Parents go support your kids.

Updated for last time. Number in front of team is playoff seeding.
