Barring a huge upset the next week, we will have 6-0 Bentonville as visitors on their own field vs 6-0 West (9-0) for the Conference Title.

Just doesn't get any better than that!  Better order in the extra bleachers, there will be 10K+ at that one.

I am a Tiger through and through, but I think West will be very tough to beat.

Winner will be W1 and loser will be W2.

I may have to drive to Fayetteville to see this one.  Can someone save me a seat?

If you decide to drive up, message me and I'll treat you to Bville hospitality.  Unfortunately, I will have to sit on the visitors side.  My friends at West tell me they will have me escorted over if I try to sit in my normal seat.

If I can make it I'll take you up on that offer.

Great day do be a Bentonville fan! I said earlier this week West had to get some defense. They did just that! What a night for both teams. Looking forward to the cross-town game.

Razorback Red

No upsets tonight for either Bville team, so still looking good for the week 10 showdown for the Conf title and 1-seed.

If you like HS football, get a ticket and get there at least an hour early.

InYoGrill

We know how dominant Bville was before the split but could you imagine how dominant if all those kids from both schools were still just the Tigers this year??? Bring on anyone nationally???

It's going to be interesting when the Tiger fans have to sit on the visitors side in their home stadium.

I believe about half the reason they flushed that money from nowhere over to build West a stadium was because of situations like what will occur on that night.  Lots of long time boosters will have an "Away" game in their home stadium.

Plus, they will have to cram a whole team into that band box of a dressing room that they have for visiting teams....

Finally, "what goes around, comes around"...

What were they thinking, beautiful stadium then build a 10'X 10' dressing room?

tj1987

Is there a scenario possible where both teams can lose??? ;D ;D ;D
All jokes aside should be a good one!

School board voted 5-2 for the West Stadium. Construction should begin in December.

Yep was glad to see this for the kids. I had to play in a city shared stadium for one year. Hated not having the feeling of 'home field'.

Glad this was approved. It is hard to share a stadium especially when both teams will be hosting games throughout the playoffs.

At least it's not pink like what Hayden Fry did at Iowa.

Game week is finally here.  Extra bleachers are going in, gates open at 5:30pm and Bentonville will be in the visitors locker room (that ended up being a big debate).

Enough of that stuff, let's focus on the game.

I think most agree that West has been the most consistent team in the 7A West all season, but BHS might be playing the best right now.  Having seen them both play at least 3 times in person, here are my keys to the game:

West needs to stretch the field on offense and hit some big plays.  BHS is not going to let the run beat them.
BHS needs to establish the run and take time off the clock.  Keep the West offense off the field and open up passing game w/ the run
BHS D needs to limit Jarrett's scrambling ability.  He makes plays when nothing is there.  Very underrated QB.
West has to play with composure.  It's their biggest game ever with a lot on the line.  Can't make emotional (dumb) mistakes

Pretty evenly matched.  My head says pick West, but my heart is a Tiger through and through.

Not to add more to this already HUGE game, but the W2 has the much tougher side of the bracket.  The W1 will have the easiest possible path to the semi's (no disrespect to Cabot or Springdale), but the W2 will face the Bryant/Conway week 10 loser in round 2 and then NLR or Harber in the semi's.  The W1 will get Cabot or Sdale at home and then FHS or Bryant/Conway week 10 winner at home.

Anyone heard they're bringing in a portable and larger dressing for BHS to use on the visitors side? :)

Can't see why that is debatable.

I saw the proposed West Stadium design. It looks like a dandy!

GO BULLDOGS!!!

I wonder if BillyO has got to see it or still around?   I know GLion would have loved to see the progression.   He often talked of the growth and expansion of NWA.

I know what you're saying.  I've been amazed that more organized opposition hasn't surfaced.  The latest 6"x11" postcard from the supporters that is captioned "Vote YES To Alleviate Our Overcrowded High School" shows a throng of students...but it appears they are lining the street between the two parts of the high school to watch a homecoming parade!  My gut feeling continues to be that there is a huge silent majority out there waiting to be heard, but, if I'm wrong, it won't be the first time.

I don't know who to pick in this game.  I may have to go with Bentonville West.

The Future

I'm gonna have to go with Bentonville in this one.
Bentonville 49
Bentonville West 35

I haven't been to a 7A game in ages.... May have to make it to this one.

I'm on the West bandwagon.  I think West wins this one and plays NLR in the championship game.

I was there one year when Bennie and SS were ranked 1,2 and it was pretty cool. Hard to replicate certain football atmospheres and this one Friday night may be at the top.

GAME DAY!!!

I was at the BHS vs West 9th grade game last night, and everyone was talking about tonight.

There hasn't been this much excitement for a game in Bville since Big #15 was taking the field vs FHS.

Gonna be a fun one!

BHS won the 9th grade game 27-6

West has been in the championship game 3 times in 3 years of existence. Pretty impressive. BHS winning it this year just shows they will be tough to deal with as those kids move up. Hard to imagine what BV would be like if there was no split!!!!!!!

On to tonight's game. BV has found their stride after some early season issues. That's a reflection of a good coaching staff and hard nosed kids. Nothing fancy as to what they do, they want to run the ball and have a good enough passing game to keep you off balance. Defense is tough.

West has been impressive, especially on the defensive side of the ball. I really thought the defensive side would be their Achilles heel but they proved me wrong. Having depth has really made the big difference between this year and last. It's very hard to win in 7A when you starting QB is also a starting DB which is what they had to do last year.

The environment will be electric and I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't fans in the stands by 3 pm this afternoon. I think it comes down to a couple of things. Can West run the ball? If Smallwood can be effective running the ball it will open things up for Jarrett to Jackson/Banda. Next West has to prevent the long ball. Mays-Hunt can get deep and Lyons can put it on the money. I think that is the weakness of the West defense and I am sure BV will test them early and often.

Both coaches will have some tricks up their sleeve so who knows what you will see tonight. Should be a GREAT game and I think West finishes the regular season undefeated with a 29-28 win.

Even my oldest son, a recent GW grad, was talking about going to see this one. Should be a good one...we may try to catch some as well if available online.

As of 3:30pm, there were a few folks already standing in line on the visitors (BHS) side.  Gates open at 5:30.

Whatever the outcome tonight, I'll be pulling for a rematch in The Rock in a few weeks.

On that note, Go Tigers!!!

Awesome atmosphere, awesome game.

Conf title and tied at 28 going to 4Q, can't ask for much more than that.

BHS suffered a huge loss with Miller (RB) breaking his leg before half, He is out for the season.

Evenly matched, talent on both side, but BHS made better halftime adjustments and got pressure on West QB in 2nd half.

Tough road ahead, but I could see these 2 teams meeting again for it all in a few weeks.

I wish I could have been there.  Sounds like it was a great game.

I called it wrong.  I really thought West had it going this year.

I disagree with you about the final.  I think it will be one of these teams against NLR.

How were the concession lines?

Not bad, everything was planned out nice.  You will find it interesting, but BHS warmed up at the soccer complex and rode the bus over just before kickoff.

I didn't say I was picking that final, but it would not surprise me.  West at NLR in semi's (if they both make it there) will be worth the price of admission.  West can score.

If that happens I may have to skip the PA game and see this one.  The winner is likely the champion.
