Most likely expense. Helicopters are very expensive to charter and there are not many available.
Probably equivalent in rental cost to a mid size business jet. Could be as much as $ 4,000 an hour easy.
At 2 hours of travel time that's $8,000 for video. Even if I am off by 50% that is still $4,000 for a few hours of video that translates to maybe 7 minutes of film on the sports segment.
For 13 weeks (playoffs included) that's somewhere between $52,000 and $104,000 for a full season.
In these days of squeezed profits it's much cheaper to have folks on the ground.

I wish they still did it though I remember going to the games as a kid and getting real excited when I heard a chopper thinking it was them
