GAMES OF INTEREST

Games involving top ten teams:

1. Pulaski Academy vs. NR. Blytheville - The Bruins play the 4 seed from the East. Pulaski Academy is a big favorite to win. Blytheville is trying to get their football program on track with a huge upset.

2. Batesville vs. NR. Jacksonville - The Pioneers are looking for another trip to War Memorial by starting off with the 4 seed from the Central. Jacksonville had to have a bit of luck to get in (some forfeits by McClellan), but are looking for the big upset now.

3. Wynne vs. T11. Sylvan Hills - The Yellowjackets take on the 3 seed from the Central in Sylvan Hills. Wynne has been a favorite to win state for most of the year. Sylvan Hills has fallen on hard times late in the year, but the Bears are looking to show they are for real with a big win here. Wynne can't take this team lightly.

4. Maumelle vs. NR. White Hall - Maumelle, the only undefeated team in 5A, takes on the 4 seed in the South in White Hall. Maumelle has been a huge surprise this year, moving up from 4A and sweeping the 5A West. White Hall has been up and down all year. The Bulldogs were as high as number 6 in the top ten I believe at one time. Maumelle cant take this 4 seed lightly.

5. Hot Springs vs. 13. Little Rock Christian - The Trojans, in contention for most surprising team along with Maumelle, has a tough test in the 4 seed from the West in Little Rock Christian. A common theme in these first round West-South matchups is you can't take the other lightly and that's true here, too.

6. Greenbrier vs. 10. Watson Chapel - This top ten match-up is between two teams that found their in the 2nd half of the season. Can the 3 seed Wildcats roll into Greenbrier and pull out the win?

7. Camden Fairview vs. 8. Harrison - Camden Fairview has been up and down most of the year. It's tough to tell what you are going to get from this team. Harrison is an offensive juggernaut who can score in the blink of an eye. This should be an exciting game.

9. Nettleton at T11. Beebe - This is our only first round matchup where the road team has a higher ranking than the home team. With Beebe's resurgence after the return of their stud fullback, Nettleton can't take Beebe lightly. Nettleton would like to move on to the 2nd round and show their football program is on the rise.
