1   PA 9-1 Cruising into the postseason as C1, which surprises no one.  Will they get bounced out before WMS as they have the past couple of years, or will they finally make it this time?
2   Batesville 9-1 Likewise, after they beat Wynne we all knew they were E1.  No kid on this team has finished a season outside of WMS, but none of them have state championship rings either.  Will the Buffalo Bills finally go all the way this year?
3   Wynne 9-1 Lots of people's preseason favorite, and probably the best #2 in the state.  Wynne is primed to make a run.
4   Maumelle 9-0-1 The only undefeated team in the state, Maumelle has impressed in their first year in 5A.  But everyone said going in that the West was down this year, and they might be the weakest #1 seed.  I'm loking forward to seeing them in person next week.
5   Hot Springs 6-4  (+1) The Trojans are conference champions for the first time in many years.  Congrats to Coach Vereen and his Trojans.  I'll be interested to see how far they go.
6   Greenbrier 7-3 (-1) They took care of business against arch-rivals Vilonia thursday night.  Oghuta be a fun match-up vs Watson Chapel next week.
7   Fairview 7-3 (+1) Took care of business last night to own S2.  These aren't the Cardinals of the past few years, but they're still dangerous and anyone who overlooks them is a fool.
8   Watson Chapel 5-5 (-1) Losing last night gives them the 3 and a road trip to Greenbrier friday.  But they're still a very dangerous team.
9   Harrison 6-4 (+1) The Gobs are back in the playoffs for the first time since they came to White Hall in 2006.  I still remember that game, sweet revenge for them beating us Round 1 in '03.  This year they head to Camden Fairview.  Long drive and a tough opponent, good luck with that Harrison.
10   LRCA 6-4 (+1) LRCA might be the best #4 in the playoffs this year.  They're very dangerous, and have a coach on staff who knows Hot springs well.  Could be an upset special brewing here folks.  Keep an eye on that game next week.

The W1/S4 and S1/W4 games are the ones to watch next week if you're looking for a big upset.  PA and Batesville will roll easy (no offense to Blytheville or Jacksonville).  Oughta be some fun in the 2/3 matchups though.

Nettleton....who's nettleton?   Where is Nettleton?   Serious question.

Very valid question.  Even though some of us consider it rhetorical.  Nettleton has been relevant once I think in the past 15 years, and it was a surprise.  I guess I consider them somewhat relevant in 06 anyway, because they made a push to the semifinals.  They suffered blowout losses in the regular season from Batesville and Wynne and then got beat by Greenwood? I think.  They are decent this year, but won't get out of the quarterfinals if they make it past the first round.

trackster, we still have until Wednesday to make a vote?  This is very interesting going in to the playoffs.  A lot of good teams out there and a lot of good teams that didn't make it to the playoffs.

From a West perceptive on the 1st round...
Maumelle should do good.  Defense can win games, but making offensive points can help on the final score.
Greenbrier should do good on this running and maybe passing team.  GB plays in the West, but their kicking game needs worked on.
Harrison game could be 50/50 due to the long haul to CF.  Both teams offense is similar (reminds me of GB).  Not sure of the outcome on 3 phases of the game.
LRCA could be the dark horse of the playoffs.  Good team.
