I don't usually do this, but I think the odd circumstances of the past two nights make this a smart thing to do even if it takes a bit more work. Here are the results of this past weeks results from the top ten first and then the other games

1. Wynne - 39
NR. Valley View - 0

2. Pulaski Academy - 65
NR. Beebe - 35

3. Camden Fairview - 0
NR. Magnolia - 29

4. Sylvan Hills - 28
NR. Jacksonville - 22

5. Batesville - 23
10. Forrest City - 6

6. Maumelle - 34
8. Greenbrier - 20

7. White Hall - 49
13. Hot Springs Lakeside - 35

9. Hot Springs - 52
NR. DeQueen - 12

11. Harrison - 44
NR. Morrilton - 29

12. Little Rock Christian - 28
14. Vilonia - 12

Other games:
Clarksville - 0
Farmington - 22

Greene County Tech - 40
Blytheville - 42

Little Rock McClellan - 42
Little Rock Mills - 27

Nettleton - 48
Paragould - 6

Little Rock Fair and North Pulaski aren't finished but I don't think that will affect many top ten polls..

FINALLY, THE RULES REFRESHER:

You have until Wednesday at midnight to submit a poll.

No more than 3 fans per school.

If you haven't been doing this poll and you don't think I know what school you are a fan of, let me know

That's about it.

MY POLL

Fan of Alma

1. Wynne - Just keep winning, just keep winning

2. Pulaski Academy - I finally put Wynne at 1 because Wynne is dominating in every facet of the game. PA's "bad game" was still a 30 point win, though.

3. Batesville - They won last week's top ten matchup by 17 points and are winning which is key right now. They will be able to prove themselves in the coming weeks.

4. Sylvan Hills - A win is a win, but if we are going to "punish" (notice the quotation marks) Batesville for barely beating Paragould, I feel SH deserves the same treatment for a week to see how they respond.

5. Maumelle - I'm about thisclose to putting Maumelle in my top 3. I'm not sure I have a good reason to not do it yet other than I just can't believe how impressive they are so far.

6. Hot Springs - Their biggest games are ahead of them, but I give them credit for starting 3-0 for now.

7. Harrison - It's getting harder to rank these spots. This is my reasoning. They beat LR Christian who beat White Hall...it's the best I've got right now

8. Little Rock Christian - I don't think the White Hall loss to CF looks as impressive now and LR Christian beat White Hall in non conference...

9. White Hall - I explained my reasoning for putting LR Christian ahead of them for now. It's close, though between these past 3 teams.

10. Camden Fairview - Yes, I have a team that lost 29-0 in my top ten. Yes, I have that team above the team that beat them 29-0. I am of the opinion that CF's season isn't defined by this game, but they are on rocky ground with me.

I think Magnolia played the best game they can play and Camden Fairview played the worst game they can play so I'm not going to panic and have a knee jerk reaction off that one loss. Sh*t happens!

Chief_Osceola™

Fan of Maumelle:

1. Wynne - continuing to roll through the East
2. PA - A strong offensive showing, but the defense seems to have forgotten about the game against Beebe.
3. (tie) Sylvan Hills - A closer-than-expected win against Jacksonville, but still undefeated.
3. (tie) Maumelle - Offense has caught up to the defense.  Two quality road wins against top-10 teams moves the Hornets up.
5. Batesville - With my poll being a what-have-you-done-lately analysis, Batesville hasn't been quite as strong the last couple of weeks as the teams above them.
6. Harrison - After a tough 4-game stretch to start the season, Harrison appears to be rolling along now.
7. LRC - Very strong showing against Vilonia.
8. Camden Fairview - Surprising loss against an up-and-down Magnolia team.  The loss wasn't as much surprising; the lop-sided score was.
9. White Hall - I can't decide what to think about White Hall.  Good wins on the resume, and really no bad losses.
10. (tie) Magnolia - The CF game was a surprise, and if they can keep that type of intensity they could play a spoiler in the coming weeks and playoffs.
10. (tie) Greenbrier - They are a better team than the Maumelle game would indicate.  They need to settle on one quarterback though.

Complete Biased PoV

I am going to work on my Top 10 this afternoon.  A few people have mentioned in their comments about PA giving up 35 to Beebe.  Beebe now has Tripp Smith back this was his 2nd game back and that kid is a load to bring down.  I'm thinking Beebe vs. McClellan would be a different game if played with him.  The battle for 3rd just got interesting in the Central.

Lionheart88

Fan of White Hall

1   Wynne 6-0 (+/-0) Wynne keep rolling.  Next week will be their last test before the playoffs.
2   PA 5-1 (+/-0) Like Wynne, they've got one conference test before the playoffs.
3   Maumelle 5-0-1 (+2) The new boys have quietly put together an excellent season.  I'm excite to see if they can keep it up.
4   Batesville 5-1 (+2) unimpressive in the first half, but decisive in the second.  The Pioneers got it done friday night, but now it's time to decide the East title.  I think they're clear underdogs, but this is one of those "anything can happen" games.
5   Sylvan Hills 6-0 (-2) Yes they won, but only 6 points over 1-5 Jacksonville?  That's the definition of unimpressive.
6   White Hall 3-3 (+1) Back to their winning ways this week, outscoring a high-powered Lakeside offense.  Now the old foe makes the short trip to Bulldog Stadium.  Throw out the records, Cats versus Dogs is always fight.
7   Fairview 4-2 (-3) The Cardinals took a big tumble this week.  Beaten by 29 against a team that had been winless in conference?  What's happening down there?
8   Harrison 3-3 (+2) The Goblins are back to .500 and look to be a serious contender for the West title, but Maumelle's going to have to slip up for them to have a shot.
9   LRCA 4-2 (+2) The Warriors got back to their winning ways this week, with a conclusive victory over Vilonia, muddying the 5A race even more.
10   Hot Springs 3-3 (+4) Coach Vereen has quietly put together a great run in conference. Are they for real, or just feasting on the weak underbelly of the South?  I think this just might be their year.

Rising in: LRCA, Hot Springs
Dropping out: Forrest City, Greenbrier

Others considered: Magnolia, Nettleton, Farmington

Comments: Yes, I have White Hall above Camden.  There may be a hint of bias there, but here me out: I think these teams are headed in opposite directions.  Camden looked formidable two weeks ago, then barely escaped White Hall with a win, then got hammered in Magnolia.  White Hall had a miserable start to the season, but aside from the stumble against CF, they've been getting better as the year goes by.  On another note, Hot Springs is interesting.  I've heard folks say that they've only beaten Watson Chapel, Hope, and DeQueen, who are a combined 3-6 in conference.  BUt I think this team will mount a serious title challenge this year.  I think they'll beat Magnolia this week, and then they've got games @ White Hall (a Homecoming of sorts for White Hall Alum Chris Vereen) and home vs CF.  If they survive those games, they'll be formidable in the playoffs.  I'm really not sure what to think about Magnolia.  Did they just get lucky and catch CF at the right time, or are they putting things together after early losses to Lakeside and White Hall?

Huge games this week in the South especially as Watson Chapel comes to White Hall, a battle that will keep one team in contention for prime playoff positioning (or even a conference title should Hot Springs take a loss), and Magnolia @ Hot Springs, which may be the Trojans toughest conference test yet (then again, Chapel has looked good since getting soundly beaten by the Trojans week 4).  In the East it's Batesville @ Wynne, which will surely decide the East title.  In the West, Vilonia has a chance to put a chink in Maumelle's armor, and in the Central PA and SH should roll, but the #3 and #4 may become clearer.

The midway point is almost there for the 5A football season.  Wynne, PA, Batesville, Sylvan Hills and Maumelle.  Great teams so far in 6 games of play.  I've voted for all of you.  It will be interesting to see how the conference play turns out for each conference.  But I will be looking for an upset.  Then there is playoffs between each conference.  But I will be also looking for an upset.

Great teams, but others will be trying to make a statement.  Good Luck!  Kind of reminds me of this song from the '80s...

Man, I have had a heck of a time trying to figure this thing out this week.

Fan of PA

1.  PA 5-1 (0)- Really considered dropping them to #2 with the slow start @Beebe, but them and Wynne are so close.  I went back to the body of work and PA's non-conference schedule was tougher, so I leaned their way.  And again, Beebe's Tripp Smith is going to make every one of their games close here on out.
2.  Wynne 6-0 (0)- This is the week I have been waiting for, this will by far be Wynne's toughest opponent this year.  If they beat Batesville I don't see anyone beating them in conference.
3.  Sylvan Hills 6-0 (0)- Had a "sloppy game" against Jacksonville, pun intended, because I wasn't there but I bet Ol' Jan Crow stadium was a mud bowl.  They still won't be challenged until week 10.
3.  Batesville 5-1 (+1)- With Sylvan Hills close game with Jacksonville and Batesville's solid win against Forrest City, I think it is a dead heat between these two, unless the Pioneers can shock the Jackets.
5.  Maumelle 5-0-1 (+1)- Steady progress in my poll +1 each week, and they finally broke the #6 curse in my poll.
6.  Harrison 3-3 (+2)- This team is a little sneaky, because their record doesn't show how good they can be.
7.  Camden Fairview 4-2 (-2)-  Yes, they lost to Magnolia and are making me eat my words that "no one will challenge them".  And their loss makes the 5A South about as clear as the Mississippi River!
8.  Little Rock Christian 4-2 (+1)- Rebound against Vilonia after losing to Harrison.  Week 10 in 5A West could be interesting.
9.  Nettleton 4-2 (NR)- Here is where I started having so many issues. I really considered only having a top 8.  I'm not sold on the fact Nettleton deserves this spot, but I'm buying it more than other people below them being in the top 10.  I'll probably be proved wrong though.
10.  With the absolute chaos that is the 5A South:  Almatrackster, you can take your pick on which of these you count.  I have a tie for #10 between Hot Springs, Magnolia, and White Hall (alphabetical order) This should sort out in the next 2 weeks as Hot Springs plays the other 2 in consecutive games.

Dropped out: Greenbrier and Vilonia

(Quote from a 1885 poem) ;)

I did notice that the 3 teams that beat us, 6A Alma, 6A Siloam Springs and 5A Maumelle are still in the top 10 in their respectful conferences according to fearlessfriday.  But I know that anything can happen in the West conference play from game to game.
