bigworm

That was a heckuva game. Good job to both teams. It was way closer than 10 points.

Bildo

Were the Lady Lions able to play all of their starters? I know they had a couple that were injured recently

BigLion10

No the 2 that went down didn't play

Marvell 92

Clarendon Sr.boys - 77 :'(

bigworm

Was this at marvell or clarendon?

Kbeezy55

Marvell , this was a free one though .. Real games next week  in Clarendon .. They want have any reason to say why they lost at home  ::)

MomaLion

Free one my behind, we got "Marvelled" plain and simple.  Besides all the cops that had to be there.  We honestly shouldn't have to travel to a school that requires a small army of local, state and 2 counties officers. Oh and add in the totally unprofessional staff running the show.  SMH  ??? You might complain about our refs, we can't control that, but you will find our staff professional and not trying to fight with anyone that questions them.

Of course it was in Marvell...it's kind of odd that every quality win they've had has been at home...hmmm.
The kicker is that they are a good team....all that isn't needed.  You might not get the wins but you'd be better prepared for tournament when you can't control the outcome.
Oh and they hurt one of our best players early in the game...no foul called or anything, so that affected things a bit.

MomaLion

Clarendon 55
Marvell 21...girls....playing our 2nd and 3rd string and clock starting just before half.

England at Lighthouse tonight

Bildo

Carlisle hosts Clarendon tonight.

MomaLion

See y'all in Carlisle. At least we won't have to have police riding the bus tonight lol.

Oh we get to go there Friday...

Bildo

I heard that England may not be participating in the Jr District tournament in Marvell. Can anyone comment or is this just a rumor?

MomaLion

I honestly wouldn't be surprised,  we shouldn't have to subject our kids to that. Aside from the total lack of professionalism,  we shouldn't need armed escorts at a high school game.

Not sure, but I will check with the Sup and AD.  There is nothing to gain by playing in that environment.   The safety of our kids is important.

I wish we would follow suit if that is the case

BigLion10

Maybe all the schools should get together and boycott the tournament unless they move it from marvell

Marvell is right down the road for me but I'd rather drive elsewhere.

Did England win?
No, lost 70-65 I think. 4th quarter got really bad and I will leave it at that.

jsky14

Lighthouse came from 7 down in 4th to win by 5

Cheek1

One ref at lighthouse game wanted to make sure he got paid, they have a good team, but it was very obvious on several calls

bigworm

The refs again were terrible. Amd it may not be a bad idea to have grown people taking care of the business at a highschiol game. 11 of 23 from the freethrow line wont get it done against a quality team. And our defense was pathetic.

why would y'all rest 2 starters are they banged up?

MomaLion

Yes, they got hurt Monday night at Marvell and a 3rd nearly came out last night. We lost 2 girl starters last night as well including our star. We seem to have a bullseye on our backs.

They made sure our girls were out though. There was no reason Tyia should have been hurt when she was out of bounds and away from the ball. You don't accidentally step on a kids knee when she's out of bounds. I'm livid over that one.

Ventman

It's was unfortunate that the kid got hurt but your saying that one of Carlisle's kid hurt her intentionally? I was at the game and didn't have a good view of what happened.

Bildo

There was nothing intentional when she got hurt, I assure you of that. Carlisle has never been a dirty or physical team, so to insinuate otherwise makes me livid. I hope that she is ok and went over to speak with Coach Perry after the game to ask for an update when one is available. Coach Perry did not indicate that he was upset over the way she got hurt only to say the referees should have been more attentive in getting the game under control before something like that happened.

Ventman

I agree Bildo, I've never seen any Carlisle player intentionally hurt another player. It was a physical game but I didn't see anything dirty. Both teams were just playing hard I thought.

HoopKing

Nobody touched that girl she was out of control.  All 5 girlsfor Carlisle were still in bounds so to say that we went over and stepped on her knee is malicious and definitely uncalled for. Our kids did nothing wRong

Bildo

And to add... she fell literally 3 feet from our superintendent! Do you think he would allow one of his students to do such a thing?!  It's sports... kids get hurt. Quit making unfounded accusations and insinuating that everyone is out to get Clarendon. I cannot tell you how many times our kids went to help up another Clarendon player from the floor with hand extended and would not accept the gesture and how many would not shake hands in the line after the game. Now THAT is the truth.

Wrong,  a Carlisle player stepped on her knee. Whether it was intentional,  who's to say,  but she was away from the ball. As for them not being physical, that's just funny

They were mad that y'all hurt their teammate,  I can't blame them for that. And Coach was getting on them about not slapping hands when your coaches wife stuck her nose in. He was handling his team.
As for the player getting hurt,  you have your opinion and I have mine. Regardless a kid that was the best player on that court may be out for the season.

Bildo

I don't have an opinion... I have facts. ITS ON VIDEO that no one stepped on her. So keep your opinions to yourself and stop accusing our kids of things they didn't do. They deserve better. When someone is blinded so much by what they want to be true and can't see what is really true, this is the outcome.
