My projected winners are in bold.

Crossett vs Magnolia
Monticello vs Watson Chapel (Cats much improved after loss to Nashville)
Dumas vs White Hall
West Helena vs Earle
Hamburg vs Strong
DeWitt @ Riverview (If DeWitt plays as well or better than they did against Stuttgart, an upset is possible here)
Star City vs Stuttgart (It's going to be a long year for the Ricebirds)

Stuttgart in that bad of shape this year?

They lost to DeWitt. That's a bad omen for the rest of the season. Very, VERY rarely do the Ricebirds ever lose to DeWitt.

I just wanted to insert that I was proud to see the 8-4A with a 4-0 record in Week 0.  Been a while since our conference has experienced that level of non-conference success.

Does it show we're turning a corner?  Not sure on that, but anytime you can go out of conference and get a win against the 7-4A, a 5A East opponent, and what many considered to be the top two teams from the 2-4A, I'll take that.

Let's hope we can continue to trend this week as we'll have teams going up against the 2-4A, 5A South and some 2A squads.  Let's keep that winning streak rolling everyone!

Good start for the 8-4A. Let's hope we can keep it going.

The Monticello Watson Chapel game is intriguing.

Agreed, could be a good gauge on Monticello to see if the offense is progressing under the new coaching regime.  They got hammered pretty bad by Camden Fairview in the scrimmage, and reports said its the offense thats lagging right now.  Hopefully they can have a better showing tonight against a good, but not great, Watson Chapel team.  The Wildcats do have weapons though and certainly could have won their opener against Nashville if they had protected the football better.

Goodluck Let's get some wins 8-4A and stay injury free!!

cuckoobird

Was Dewitt the only winner this week?

Crispyfried

Dumas, West Helena and Hamburg won as well

FF Secretary of Defense Flap_Jack48

Won 4, lost 3. So we're still doing well as a conference. Monticello gets run outta town by Watson Chapel, literally. Star City with a lack luster showing against Stuttgart who had a get right game. Crossett will be looking for their first win in 2018 next week. But some good wins for Dumas, Hamburg, DeWitt and HWH.

Hopefully we can keep it going as a conference next week. It'll be good to see Warren back in action next week. Headed up to Arkansas County for a date with the Ricebirds.

-Kyle

What was the final score of the Hamburg-Strong game? Just morbid curiosity.

Don't expect Crossett to contribute. Gonna be a long year for the Eagles.
