Every year we get a lot of preseason polls and predictions from a "Homer Wishful Thinking Perception," and basically every year there few of those teams arounds at the end. I like to use this definition for Juggernauts, a massive inexorable force or movement that crushes whatever is in its path... By now everyone has had a chance to look at their respective teams on the practice fields leading up to the first week! If you're in those Top Ten Polls or your favorite team is on the Up-Side of all those factless first week predictions, then ask yourself, "Do we really have any Juggernauts on this Squad," Top Ten for now, bottom Ten by season's end? I just want to know who has the real Bone Crushers getting ready to suit up on the Gridiron because Preseason Polls and Perdictions don't mean crap out there?

Is this another Junction City thread?  :D

If JC is the only team with Juggernauts I guess so.... I've got one, Senior Richard Merritt of Earle, Real BeastMode Juggernaut...

Well since you opened that can of worms yeah we will have a few seniors and a few under class men that will be bringing the wood. Don't know if we win another title at this point but teams better have the chinstraps tight.

BrianfromCarlisle

Rogo from McCrory is a juggernaut. Best back in 2a in my opinion.

big E

David Baker from PW 6"2 230 loves to knock the chocolate out of folk's.

He's mean. I predict a college future for him.  He tackles very very well

HorseFeathers

Wait...players or teams?

For hector as players...tanner Gaines on offense...And maybe the Day kid that's staying at linebacker....Would fit your definition

I think it could mean both team or player....

Outlaw55

For Hector I have to say DE Colton Garrison that boy loves to hit. The coaches have to tell him lighten up during practice or he'd hurt someone. He's all pee and vinegar

purpleswag

Rogo at McCrory, Green at Brinkley. Teams: JC, Bearden, Risen, Hazen, Carlisle(for the most part), Earle, England has great talent but under achieves IMO.

Probably missed a few

If a coach ever has to tell a kid to lighten up in practice he needs to be fired and the other kids need to toughen up.

Playmaker don't forget Andrews, Corbell, Camron, and Melton. All these Juggernauts are going to deal some pain to quarterbacks and running backs. They are all big strong and fast.

heavyhittaz_7

Monta thomas and kevin childs of hermitage. IMO thomas is one the best players in 2a if not the best.

M.I Time

Tj Wilson from mount ida is in the top quarterback talk in 2A along with Jackie Harrell from Gurdon who is one of the best receiver /running back in the state . These kids can play ball

M.I Time

But the real head banger in 7-2A all starts with middle linebacker Caleb Jones who has put in over 15 pounds in off season and is pushing a 4.5 40 . Not scared to thump anyone . Also from mount ida is jesse lowery who is a receiver but with 4.39 speed can knock helmets with the best of them . Dierks also has a line backer who can beat around with the best of them

BrianfromCarlisle

Penn from Hazen will be tough to handle. Kendrick from Carlisle may end up with a good year.

Pit Bull

If you have more than 1 Juggernauts you'll probably make the playoffs, if you have 3 juggernauts second round of the playoffs are likely... Everyone stay safe, I pray that the 2A Juggernauts make it to the next level...

You really need to get your stop watches checked up there in Mt Ida....or make them run the full 40....lol

Not saying he not real fast....but 4.39????

NFL attention! In the 2015 combine only 8 men ran faster than 4.4...

In the linebacker pool the fastest was a 4.53. Mt Ida has a lb that runs 4.5!

Dragon I

I don't even try anymore on here.   The vast majority of posters have no idea how fast a legitimate 4.6 40 is.

dragondad

Speed doesn't mean much if the ability isn't there.   A guy running a 4.4/40 can't catch a guy within 40 yds that's running a 4.8/40 with a 3.5yd head start. Nor can he catch the guy within 80 yds if the slower guy has a mere 6.75 yd head start. And that's theoretical not taking into account stamina and ability to make the right move at the right time.   To much emphasis is placed on tenths of seconds.

That's all true.  But I'd rather have speed than not have it!

dragondad

4.28, 4.33, and 4.35 were the fastest 40's at the 2015 NFL combine and those three guys won $100k each for doing it.

dragondad

A 4.4 hand is, at best, a 4.3 to a 4.6 laser due to reaction time of the person running the clock.....

Currently the fastest reaction time for human is .101 seconds.  In online testing the average reaction time out of over 20 million participants was .258 sec

Pick_DA_EAGLES

I'm willing to bet there is probably not 1 single player in 2A who runs a  legitimate 4.4 laser timed 40.

I agree,  but if you will look back theough the years,we discuss this topic every year.  Pick,  I think the kid at Mr Ida was running down hill.

The kid is very fast but not 4.39...I'm guessing high 4.5... Low 4.6

Isn't Penn at Hazen below 4.4? I know he is fast

He's not below a 4.4, that would be 4.3. Lol

I'm betting he's a legit 4.5, you are correct, he is FAST

BrianfromCarlisle

I thought he ran 4.39.  I went to high school with Hubert Loudermilk. That dude ran 4.29. He could freaking move!

August 26, 2015, 12:46:03 am #40 Last Edit: August 26, 2015, 12:57:40 am by dragondad
NFL started electronic timing in 2000. Since then, and considered the fastest man in NFL history the title belongs to Running Back Chris Johnson who ran a 4.24 in 2008.   The eleventh fastest is a 3-way tie between three CB's at 4.31

I assume the 4.28 that was ran this year will be inserted in the rankings at a three way tie for 5th fastest, moving the  4.31 to a tie for the 12th-14th spots.

So, if you're taking notes....that's a mere 14 men in the last 15 years, who at the pinnacle of their football prime ran a confirmed 4.31 or faster.

Pit Bull

Dion Sanders I thought was timed at 4.28. That's considered World Class Speed, Usian Bolt is probably 3.79 in 30 meters but you've got to look at conversion and reaction time...

big E

Usain Bolt can stride 10 yards. And you take a kid running a 4.6 he is running away from most teams just my oopinion. Amtonio Leak that played at PW was a 4.6 and no body caught him when he got loose.

dragondad

Sanders was pre-2000, his hand time was 4.21.   Bo Jackson was hand time 4.12 but it's been heavily debated as to how accurate that time was.   The fastest man in NFL history was Bob Hayes that ran a 10.06/100 meter and is the only NFL player to ever win a super bowl and an Olympic gold medal.

BrianfromCarlisle

dragondad

SI says Rocket had a 4.18 hand, other places say 4.24

His brother Missile was recorded at 4.3 hand time.

playmaker04

Ant Man runs a 4.46 and I don't thing too many kids in 2a can catch him so when people start talking under 4.4 I'm skeptical

NWA Hawg

Ant Man? You caught me off guard there. I thought at first you was talking about the superhero.

playmaker04

He is a super hero at Cross County lol
