On the link that was posted there are 52 movies. How many have YOU watched?

I've only seen 16.

Kinda bewildered that no has mentioned The Babe, Summer Catch, and Benchwarmers (more for humor than baseball content), but dumbfounded that someone DID mention The Scout.

Also, how many of you have watched Hustle? I haven't but was surprised that it was only 4.1 stars. Was it that bad?

I'll admit I'm a sucker for a baseball movie or book.  Same way with westerns.  I'll stop by pawn shops and thrift stores to look at what they might have.   Hard to go wrong when you're only taking a $2 or $3 chance.  I didn't count, but I probably have copies of over 40 of the movies that were on that person's list of 52.

Here's another list that was on the same site DieH posted on the football movie thread.  This list is newer.  http://www.sportsinmovies.com/best-movies/baseball.asp

Don't remember if these were on either of the posted lists and wouldn't call either "best", but Sugar and A Player to be Name Later (documentary) are pretty good if you can find them.  Also just watched Calvin Marshall.

Standing here in the Sheridan WM looking at a DVD called WAR EAGLE ARKANSAS.  Anybody heard of it and knows if it's any good?

I have heard of it and I liked it.  Filmed in Arkansas.   Sheridan huh?   Been there a few times myself.  :)

SportsFan23

War Eagle is a pretty good film, but then I like movies about smalltown America.

I know their are many many many "better" baseball movies.... but for my money (and when I want some s'mores) it doesn't get any better than The Sandlot.

Its not the best, but I do love The Final Season. It hits home when you consider how many small schools have shut down in Arkansas the last few years.
