Saw this over the weekend and while the story wasn't all that captivating, the visuals of this movie were outstanding.  Hard to say any movie is worth $12 admission but this may be the best 3D/XD movie yet from the visual aspect.

Uncle Ivan

Was it fifteen minutes of movie stretched out to an hour and a half with slow-mo...like the last one?

There are ample battle scenes and the film does use the slow mo effect generously throughout but it really did not seem all that intrusive.

Speaking of intrusive though, this review spot on identified one very constant feature of the film.

From Murray:
QuoteBy 20 minutes in, I'd renamed this film 300: Fall of the Dust Particles as director Noam Murro seemed to be fascinated by the effect of having dust float in the air in and around the actors' faces. It was so distracting, so intrusive that I was waiting to see an actor wave a particle away from his face as it gracefully floated past his eyes.
