Kipp Blythe is a new school right?

I'm pretty sure they just started Sr high athletics a couple of years ago.  Started off only going to like 6th grade then as each class moved up they've added grades.

Mammoth coach sat some starters for discipline

I am close friends with the coach from Ouachita's brother and Ouachita is awful this year. I bet Emerson had practice everyday this weekend after that one.

How Ouachita Keep Up With Emerson ?

redwolf99

This was an exciting game. I was glad I was able to make it.

I have seen Ouachita a couple of times this year and they are not very good. Don't have much depth and not very athletic. Had a good game plan for Emerson though. They put a shadow on Jefferson and stayed attached to him. If Jeff had gone to the restroom he would have stuck with him and tried to use the same stall. Deshaun French responded with 34 points to carry the load. Regan Jones kept Ouachita in the game by bombing NBA length 3's from all over the court. Emerson did need to be in the gym over the weekend - shooting free throws.  They were 0 for 7, and some of them were front ends of 1 an 1's.

I assume Regan Jones was #23.  He must be the kid that was hitting 3s from Steph Curry range.  I understand he didn't miss much in the second half, was calling for the ball,  and he kept the game close.  You never know with high school kids when you might run in to a team that has a player or 2 get hot like he must have.

Anyone remember Parkdale back in the early 80s?  They had only 1 kid 6'1" and the rest were all under 6'.  I saw them play West Memphis who had Keith Lee at 6'11" and Michael Cage at 6'10" and another starter or two well over 6'.  Both Lee and Cage played in the NBA.  Parkdale gave them a run for their money in what was then the state overall tourney (I miss that tourney).  A class B school Parkdale gave class 7A West Memphis a real scare.  The couple of games I watched Emerson play this year, they remind me of Parkdale.  Quick as can be, but small.  I hope Emerson continues to improve as they work in new starters and their bench develops.

Okay, so if you have ONE good player on a te, ONLY one. Why in earth would you run a 1-2-2 and trap if you have a guy hitting from nba range. I was at the game. Ouachita is nothing special at all. If emerson would have ran a box and one and put Jeff or the leading scorer on #23 and actually had pressure on him. That wouldn't have even been a close game. Both teams looked sloppy. Ouachita actually ran plays. Seen Emerson set up twice and run a play.
