In boys I would say Annie Camp (Jonsboro) is the best team that I have seen play in North East Arkansas.
Others
Brookland  (Jackson Parnell, Landon Hendrix , 8th David York ) also moved up 2 freshmen  Keean Strode , Jackson Ballard and still very good.
Nettleton
Tuckerman
Manila
Blytheville
Marion

In girls I would say Mt Home who won the Valley View tourney over Annie Camp in OT , best 3 point shooting team we played , we lost to them 37-40 in VV tourney
Others
Annie Camp Has best PG in Area
Nettleton
Brookland ( guards KaNya Ford, Hannah Boiling, 8th Samantha Simpkins ..5'10's Carliegh Smith, Gracie Gramling ). ..could be one of our best groups
Hoxie
Riverside ( Beaner Hoffman)
Trumann has a stud 7th grader
Highland had an 8th grader score 45pts vs Trumann in win

How about the West?

Oh wow, great answer +1

Won't be as extensive as yours and will be mainly NWA and the River Valley

Pottsville has some good junior high teams. Charleston is pretty solid. Kimmons (Fort Smith junior high that feeds Northside) is always good. Greenwood girls will be good again I'm sure. Alma's girls are looking pretty salty this year. Fayetteville Purple is usually very good. I believe Van Buren's girls are very good this year.

On the boys side, Kimmons boys are usually the studs of the River Valley. Alma boys are always tough. Haven't heard much else on the boy front this year.

Highland's Jr Girls is all 8th graders 1 9th grader. Briley Pena, 8th grader,  Along with the 45 points, she put up 35pts vs Greene Co Tech in 41-34 win and 30 against Mt. Home in a 52-42 loss....Highland plays in blended 3A/4A Conference that includes  Melbourne....not sure they are the best Jr. High but they go 9 deep and moved up 2 9th graders to HS....don't sleep on them...

Need to add Melbourne to the Jr Girls list. They are a very good team. Moved up two freshmen to sr high, but still have two great guards that can score, a six foot post and a six foot seventh grader that can play inside or outside.

Yep Melbourne is or should be the favorite to win our blended 3A/4A Conference! Good all around team. Their advantage is their depth.

They're currently playing in the Cave City tournament. Only tournament they've played in so far. They play Highland in the finals on Wed. Should be a good game.

Brookland JR Girls have Carleigh Smith and Gracie Gramling that are around 5'10 and  can score , but our guards just didn't get them the ball like they usually do. And....we got beat  by a team we should've beaten. Missed around 10-15 lay ups or forced shots around the rim, ...with a post player open on the block  is just not smart basketball to me.

I wasn't talking about that team, never seen them play.  However, I hear fans and coaches all the time yelling to get it inside only to see a player with no post moves get swatted or brick.  Two of the most annoying things to hear at a basketball game:
1.  Get your hands up on defense
2.  Go up with it, just go up with it

I agree 100% , that doesn't mean you have to force a pass to a post player that is covered , or that the  post has to force a shot , but it will force the defense to collapse and open up more open looks from the perimeter.

From what I saw, Highland hung on, Westside missed 2 layups and had an unforced turnover with a little over a min left.
Pena is definitely their main player, they looked  a little lost without her on the floor. Really good shooter and ball handler. Not a very deep bench. Should be a good game with Trumann. Best of luck to the Lady Rebels!!
We will have our hands full with Pocahontas. Hopefully we meet in finals!!

Good luck to you guys as well! Every game our Jr Girls play is tough because of our depth and youth. No excuses we gotta play really good to get Trumann again! Hope to get by them to see y'all in final. Yes, they are lost without her. Next year they'll have to do it without her! From what I've heard, she will replace the Sr point guard next year. I have no connections with team so it is just hear say. I follow all highland sports and have a Sr, who doesn't leave the bench, who plays on the boys Sr team.

Cannon ,
Take it easy on the Jr Brookland girls tomorrow at Paragould.
VV has a real good Jr girls team.

I've got a feeling that one will be more competitive than the last time they met at team camp this summer. I watched Brooklands girls at Paragould this week, and they looked much more composed. Simpkins is really stepping up her game.

Brookland is just breaking in a brand new coach, they graduated up an exceptional group of sophomores, and I'm sure it'll take them a few games to find their groove. Nonetheless, I don't expect to see a blowout, and I think Brooklands girls will continue to improve through the season.

Our girls are inconsistent.  They can play with pretty much any team in the state when they're clicking, but I watched them come out of the first quarter with a 13-2 deficit earlier this week against Paragould, and then go into the half with a couple point lead. You just never know who'll show up.

I believe we have a couple 7th Graders starting for us, this we help us in the long run. I really like our 7th girls ,pretty good athletes in that group. Simpkins is the only one that saw pt on Jr team last year....are new sophs are going to help our SR team with depth

Yes they will. Ford, Gramling, Boling.  All good kids, great players, and they're already having a legit impact on that team. Can't see em losing many over the next 3 seasons.

Always. They're good kids, and they know each other. With both teams, my observation has been that they play hard, leave it all on the court, and then hug each other when it's over.
