Rainwater was only making 44 with lots of experience and being head coach of all girls.  That is not a lot for as good of a coach as he is.  I hope he gets more than that at Nettleton.  He will probably enjoy it more there.  I subbed at Riverside (Jr. High) and was told that I would have a job there the next year only to have them give it to someone because they could drive a bus.  The fact was the Jr. High principal and the sup. both lied to my face and put the blame on the other one.  I would not recommend anyone going to Riverside to teach.  This job requires you to teach a Jr. High history/social studies.  Although the girls will be loaded with talent.  Good luck working with those people.

harris45, what did you do while you were there?  Did they ask you if you'd consider driving a bus, since that's where their needs were?

As a coach, you almost have to get a CDL.  And it helps to get a job as a teacher just about anywhere if you have a CDL.

You're telling the wrong guy there Diesel, because I do have a CDL.  I however don't drive a bus, and have no desire to, but if it saved my job then I might consider it.

What is the financial situation at Bald Know now?  I know the town really pulled together to keep the school after some poor administration.

Even though the school is still open they have to be strapped financially.  How will they handle this.  Can they afford to hire another full time teacher to coach basketball or will they reassign people on the inside?

The school is actually in the best financial shape its been in for several years.. The city passed a sales tax with the majority of the money going to the school and its bringing in some very impressive money each month and the acting Supt. is very much old school and knows how to stretch a dollar.. Like most districts there are openings every year due to retirement, people moving for one reason or the other or teachers deciding to explore other options.. This would be a good opportunity for a young Coach that wants to build a program.. Facilities are top notch and the fans are eager to back the kids..

Coach Mcdonald is still actively seeking a head coaching position. he has been in the running for a couple of jobs but hasn't landed one as of yet. When someone does land him they should be impressed.
He is a good person, smart coach, hard worker, loyal to his fellow coaches, and an excellent role model of his student athletes.

He accepted a Assistant Principal position so his wife could keep her job and they didn't have to sell their house (which I understand wasn't going very well).
