Weren't they pretty good last year?
They were the 3 from their region and should have returned all to most of their players.

Western Grove girls are good this season. I think they are 6-0. What happened to the Lady Pirates? I thought they were really good last season or the one before.

AM Rogers gradutaed last year. I think she was a big part of the team. Glad to see they are doing well for sure.
Calico Rock's girls have been really good the last 6 years (210-44, 5 state tournament appearances '10 1 final four '07 2 elite 8 '08 '12 State Champs '11)...They lost in my opinion after playing for him myself, one of the best coaches in North central Arkansas...Idc what people say, Scott Faulkner was good. That state championship team of '11 was groomed by him since their 7th grade, no disrespect to Josh Wright, he just stepped in at the right time.
That girls team had great players the last few years, and just continued to reload from (Kim Sutterfield & Ashton Lester) (Miranda Jones & Kim Sutterfield) (Hannah Wright, Kori Lamb, Brittany Fountain, Taylor Cox x2) (Taylor Cox, Brittany Fountain, Emily Johnson, Brooke McCurley, Sloan Lively, Karli Gillihan) (Emily Johnson, Savannah Skidmore, Karli Gillihan, Brooke McCurley, Sloan Lively)
It has been a really good run...but then last year after getting beat at Nevada...Calico Rock Graduated all-state MVP Emily Johnson, All-Region Brooke McCurley, a crucial 3pt-shooter Sloan Lively--Karli Gillihan moved back to Melbourne after playing for CRHS for 2 years, she is playing for them now.... and all that is left is Savannah Skidmore.
Josh Wright's team is young and nowhere near as loaded as the group that won 52 home straight games (Brittany Fountain and Taylor Cox never lost a game at Calico Rock) and (Emily Johnson, Brooke McCurley, Sloan Lively, Karli Gillihan only lost 1 game at Calico Rock)
Point is...young team now, not talented, and I don't think he is going to get out of them what Faulkner could have....loyal Pirate fan, and even working at the University of Arkansas I never miss state or homecoming but its the truth.

Thank you for all that. I went to Calico Rock from 3rd to the 7th grade. Been many years, but I still remember alot of the names of the kids you mentioned. Would have been their parents that I went to school with.

CRHS, question when did you play for Coach Faulkner? I don't recall any of his players going to Fayetteville.
