Great game for the Lady Hornets last night!  After losing by 28 at Greenwood previously, the Lady Hornets got contributions from every player and shocked the undefeated in conference leader Greenwood, 55-51 at the Hornet's Nest in Bryant.  Bryant girls had been playing better as of late, actually staying within striking distance at Conway into the second half recently before collapsing later in the game.  But on this night, senior guard Jakeria Otey and her teammates would not be denied, playing tenacious defense and executing offensively and hitting clutch shots time and again.

If Bryant's guard-heavy team gets contributions from the post like they did last night (9 points and lots of rebounds from 6'1" jr. Rachel Miller) and plays tough defense, they are capable of upsets like this one heading down the stretch and into state tournament play.

Greenwood has a very definite home court advantage that is tough to overcome, but I have to say their players, coaching staff and fans were all class in a tight game at Bryant that went against them in the closing minutes.  Kudos to Greenwood for their excellent and tough play throughout the season, but last night belonged to Bryant!

Its so refreshing to hear that the Greenwood fans took their with class and dignity.  Cuz god forbid a good team loses , or wait they dont lose. The ref beats all the good teams every time they lose, right?
