Who do you like in each? A little less than a month ago Concord played Timbo within 3 at Timbo, and despite some posters on here dismissing Rural Special they have a really good team. I know Motown likes the coaching change, but can't be sure that it won't affect Wonderview somewhat. I think we'll see two more good games out of the 1A 5 North tonight.

I expect 2 highly competitive games. I give a slight edge to WV on the girls side but it should be close. Timbo has a great team but much respect to Concords boys coach. He is top notch in my opinion.

Wonderview was in control most of the game got interesting when Rural cut it to 6 but ran out of gas. Boys game was very good also back and forth. Yes, because Calico isn't hosting district. Their games tonight are at ICC. 😜
Timbo has provided the most exciting district tournament experience I have been to in years. Timbofolks very welcoming and those needing a seat found one. Those complaining the most seemed to be the ones losing. Hope they are allowed to host again when the time comes around. Wonderful gymnasium, not many of the good ones left.

Westside is playing some good ball right now, if they lose I'll be surprised if it's by double digits. MVE girls used a lot of energy coming back to win last night so I wouldn't be surprised if they lose big tonight, but they have a lot of heart so I wouldn't count them out either.

Here is what I saw, a team that was red hot (6/7 on threes and they got a 2 point put back on the one they missed) in the first half try to slow it down in the second, then they committed turnovers and cooled way off when they did have shot attempts. I wasn't keeping count, but I bet Concord's made basket total in the first half was higher than their shot attempt total for the second half.
On MVE's side they were cold in the first half missing every three point attempt and a lot of layups. They turned up the defensive pressure in the second half and started making shots.
EVERY game has calls both sides don't like, but MVE earned every bit of this win.
And that's the one reason why I'd be in favor of a shot clock...I seem another coach this year blow a 20 point lead, by pulling his team out of a run and gun offense to stall it....

Well, at the end of the game the tactic worked for MVE so there are pros and cons for the tactic.
