 :)

The_Pioneer

I'm hoping to see an uptick in results.  Last few seasons have been tough.

Valleysports

Well the mindset is different - new coach went after freshman who will be with the program 4 yrs.  Also I think there was a weeding out of the weak, I know some players drug up.  I think we're picked to finish 8th, so all we can do is improve  ;D

x14113, did you go to Tech?  I'm still wondering about the Robert Brown 3..2..1 post.

Indeed, I did.  BME 2007.

I'm surprised more hasn't been said on that particular thread.  I suppose I should elaborate there...  ::)

The_Pioneer

Would probably help.  I have no clue what you're looking for.

Valleysports

It's crazy how many old building's have been torn down and new ones built since 2007.  The latest - where Bryant once stood, is now a dirt spot, soon to have a building matching the one across the street.

The_Pioneer

I hope to make a game this year and explore the campus again.  I lived in Paine and Turner back in the day.  Almost none of the new buildings were even in the planning stages then.  That library is amazing.

I haven't followed Tech Football since they had Graziano(i belive that was his name), but is SWO(assuming it's Southwest Oklahoma), any good as far as the GAC is concerned??

Valleysports

They beat Harding last week..

Alright Valley, I need a run down of the Conference I guess.( All I know about Harding is that they got a pretty nice stadium :D)...SO Maybe where the conference stands on a national basis as well. That way I can make heads or tails of what I read in the paper on Sundays :D

Valleysports

Honestly I haven't put much effort into keeping up since the change to GAC.  There are others that can answer that better.  Harding had a pretty good team last year.  THE TEAM has been and is Henderson, they've had and continue to have a highly ranked team.  SAU seems to have turned their program around.  TECH is rebuilding with a new coach.  I think South Western Oklahoma is a good team.  I don't think the GAC has the respect yet, we need Henderson to go win the National Championship.  Henderson & TECH play in El Dorado on Oct 19th, in some kind of Boomtown Bowl.

Seems weird that an Arkadelphia school and a Russellvile school would play in El DO...seems like that would be better fitting for SAU and UAM..

This is the 5th Boomtown game.  SAU and UAM played each other in the first two.  I think the third was UAM and OBU.  Last year was SAU and Harding.  Some have been televised.

One thing that plays into the formula is the El Dorado Promise.  El Do High grads have Murphy's checkbook available to them for tuition.  Playing in the El Dorado game is an opportunity for schools to showcase themselves and get on those student's radar.

Valleysports

With TECH rebuilding and Henderson dominating, I'm not sure this was the best time for TECH to showcase themselves.

The_Pioneer

A visit to our campus should do the trick.

I listened online.  One has to assume that Southern Nazarene was pretty bad.  But a conference win is a conference win.

Kali Hardig of Benton, one of only three documented survivors of an often-deadly form of parasitic meningitis, will be on hand to conduct the pregame coin toss at the Arkansas Tech/Southern Arkansas football game on Saturday, Oct. 12
