Raggio from Class of '04 and Holt from '05 both play in small college. This year's group was spearheaded by 5'10" Stevie Watts who tore ligaments and is done for the season. Point guard Hopkins is still in recovery from acl tear. Shooting guard Sikes cannot play. Forward Smith left team for personal reasons. Basically the entire starting team has been decimated. We may have a lean year or two based upon the last decade(averaged over 20 wins a season with multiple regional championships and runnersup since 1994) but have some young ones on the way. Hope to get back to winning ways. Every school goes through lulls. We are in the midst of one.
BTW, how is Ashley's knee? She hurt in the Charleston game friday night. My daughter said it was swollen really bad and turning blue. Did she tear her ACL?

Westside... and beating Hartford, Charleston, and Hackett at home... i dont see them beating Danville.. overall going into District Tourney... I predict the Rattlers will be 9-3 in conference... with 2 loses to Danville and 1 to Hackett...

In case it hasn't been mentioned on any of the other threads, Danville Jr. Girls got their revenge (even though they did win the first match-up it was horrible officiating and the game went into overtime) against the Hackett Jr. Girls. Don't get me wrong, I'm not wanting to rub in the win to the young ladies, it is more for the folks that got on here and thought that Danville was over-rated. But that is all I will put about the fact right now.

i did coach some pretty awesome intramural teams in college, but it was easy for them to be good since I was on them. Man that brings back some memories. I can't believe it has been almost 20 years.

ya... i dont know what the deal w/ charleston is.. but there is always officiating problems over there... danville girls will bounce back.....
it seems that teams are intimidated to go there and play, it's a hard place to play in itself with those goals, but add on the bad officiating, it's a hard place to WIN instead of just play
Danville girls were up by 8 at half time, but then the masked marvel for Charleston put up 10 or 12 on them in the 3rd quarter to give them a 5 point lead going into the 4th. Danville got killed on the boards. But this week will be a good week with Westside on Tuesday and Hackett on Friday.
When Hartford played at Charleston it was one of the worst reffing jobs I have ever seen.
Thats crazy that Danville lost to Charleston.

Bad officiating? That's a joke! There haven't been any good officiated games in which Danville has ever lost! Charleston thought the ref's were pretty bad also, against them. I disagree. I think they were consistent, and that's all anyone can ever hope for in our conference with the officials we have today. It seems as if some of them are there only to get a paycheck, and could care less as to whether or not they do a good job. There are some really good officials though. I just wish there were more of them. But it is still fun to blame them whenever we lose.

The paramedics had to come take care of one of our guyys after he got his head busted open on a loose ball foul that was never called
Officials are just bad at our level. And they are not just bad when Danville loses. The boys won by 20 and the officials were terribly inconsistant in the second half. I think what happens is they have 1 good official with 2 sub-par officials and the 1 good one can not make up for the others. It seems to me that they tend to use the excuse "That's not my call". Sometimes I think we should get back to just two officials so they will own up to the calls. They are bad everywhere.

This is a big week in the 4AA. Hackett is at Hartford tonight and then play host to Danville on Friday. Hartford can't get stung by the Hornets tonight and get too down b/c they have to go to Magazine on Thursday because of Beta club. Danville has it a little easier than the other top 3 teams playing host to Westside tonight. Should be a little bit interesting this week. Good luck to all and play safe. Our guys beat lavaca by about 24 tonight. Montes laid a lavaca guy out hard. He was like twitching and stuff. They took him off on a stretcher. It looks bad cause the refs called it a charge but it was a crap call. It was purely accidental too. Joey took a tight cut off a screen and the guy went behind the screen and they met pretty hard on the otherside.
I didnt hear anything about Charleston tonight. Did they play westside?

I meant state. I have been reading about 1 v 4 and how we willbe mercy ruled. I think our #1 will be okay leaving our # 2 in good shape. I even think our #3 will beat the other side. I am predicting our top 2 to upend Cedarville and Eureka. Nonetheless our #3 cannot make it. Hackett, Danville, and Magazine cannot all make it. Sorry my post was so ambiguous. Most are short and choppy.

Our conference is pretty strong this year.
The whole thing is whack. Cedarville beat Hackett, but Hackett got their revenge twice I believe, Cedarville beat Danville, but Hartford beat Cedarville, but then Cedarville will be the 3 seed in their conference.
I think that the 4AA has battle to get even one team to state.

If hartford can pull off a win at Danville Tuesday that would be great. Then they would have beat Hackett, Danville and Cedarville. It would be nice to know that they can beat those teams going into the post season.

Lavaca hosts Danville today in what very well could be the 4AA Conference girls regular-season championship game.
Lavaca (18-4, 8-1) and Danville (16-5, 9-1) are tied for the league lead. Lavaca's only conference loss was to Danville, 52-39, while Danville's only league loss was to Charleston, 50-45.
Both teams have a two-game lead over third-place Hartford and Charleston — both are 6-3 in conference. A win by Danville would give the Lady Little Johns no less than a share of the conference title, because Danville has but one conference game remaining after today. It will be homecoming today at Lavaca, which means the senior boys will play first followed by the senior girls.
Down To The Wire
The 4AA Conference boys race looks like it could go down to the wire.
Hackett leads the league at 9-1 going into today's home game against Johnson County Westside. The Hornets, whose only loss was to Hartford, hold a one-game lead over Danville (8-2) and own the head-to-head tiebreaker against the Little Johns.
Danville has a one-game lead over third-place Magazine (6-3) but owns the head-to-head tiebreaker against the Rattlers. Magazine has a one-game lead over fourth-place Hartford (5-4) but owns the head-to-head tiebreaker against the Hustlers.
Hartford has a two-game lead over fifth-place Charleston (3-6) with three games left, including one at home against Charleston. Hartford won the first game of that series.
Scoring Duo
Senior Victor Mendoza, who led Subiaco to a big win over Ozark on Tuesday, is the team's leading scorer with 18 points a game. He's also averaging nine boards, 4.5 assists and four steals per game.
The Trojans' Mike Gaskill, a junior, is averaging 15 points and seven rebounds per game.
Subiaco travels to West Fork today and returns home Tuesday for a pair of games (Tuesday and Thursday) against Waldron and Mansfield.
On The Mend
Lavaca's Clay Ridgley suffered a concussion during Tuesday's game at Hartford. The junior was examined at a local hospital after the game and released a few hours later. Ridgley's injury occurred when he took his third charge of the game and hit his head hard while falling to the floor with 3:51 left to play.

Its hard to beat a decent team 3 times... Our guys last year had an easy W to make it to regionals but overlooked westside and didnt get it.. Jus like Lavaca overlooked our girls and didnt get in.. Both Hartford teams need to stay focused and not overlook anyone..
