Considering conference started today let's hear some scores and what to expect from this conference this year

TIGER101

Well,,,,,,,  since no one has posted a single thing here this year, I guess every game in conference has been rained out.  No FF from the once proud 1-4a.

Did I see where Pea Ridge beat Prairie Grove? Or did the AAA website make a mistake?

I believe they won comfortably as well as Gravette handily PG easily if I heard correctly. They struggled against Berryville as well. Gragg is a really good pitcher but they don't have much else. The 1-4A is awfully quiet in baseball right now.

TIGER101

They have 1 returning starter.  They have not had that problem for the past 5 or 6 years.  I think they will be fine again after this year.

That 5 or 6 year stretch was by far the best "small town" baseball in NWA has ever been. Teams that normally would have been a top 2 team with their talent like Lincoln, Pea Ridge, and Gravette were just nothing compared to what PG, Farmington, and Shiloh put on the field.

Nomad1324

Any idea on who is going to be the best of the bunch this year?

Gragg is the best player by far on this current PG team. The talent pool at PG is not even close to the previous 5 years. At one point PG had 3 D1 pitchers on one team. Beeks, Kincaid, and Tice and a solid catcher in Sugg, who was good enough to play at several colleges. Pitching is huge in HS baseball . I don't see those type of kids on this current team. This is just my explanation of why they'll never get back to that level. They will be a good team but not a great one

I think they have a younger group that will be fine.  You are correct though in a way, when you look at what you said.  There were 5 years of age difference in all of those kids.  It take multiple classes to help, even a strong class.

TIGER101

Heard PG Catcher quit before Pea Ridge game. Any  reason why?

He quit in April. He had to have shoulder surgery and needed to be healed before leaving for the Military after graduation.
