Missco

You see more high school players with them now days. It's not that big of deal.

lorettalynn

i mean if was on the arm three years ago it had to be covered

BigLion10

I've seen a lot this year not covered

lorettalynn

i know did the rule change

Rulesman

It may be school policy. There is nothing in the rule book that covers the subject.

It's not a big deal if the kid wants to limit his future options.

Missco

Lol, I know that certain people judge others that have them.    They are a lot more common now days. One in five adult's have one. That number goes to one in three in the 20 to 29 age group. I would guess the numbers are probably higher than even that.

I don't have one and never will consider one...but I don't think its a big deal to have one. HOWEVER, what parent lets their kid get one while they are still living at home in school even if they are 18. My dad continuously told me that you are welcome to live as you please but wait until you leave the home. That is the most socially conservative you will ever hear me sound  :D. Just my thought. No fault to the kids though if their parents are ok with it. Just makes you wonder about their parents allowing that while in high school. If you want to tatt up all over in college by all means have at it.

So you say :D

Missco

Most kids that get them in HS don't come from Norman Rockwell type families. It just is what it is. All culture's are different. A lot of these kids are good student's. They just have a lot stacked against them.

BigLion10

Honestly tattoos are becoming the norm for kids and young adults now

Missco

Yep,also more professional adults have them than you would ever imagine. I bet around 25 % to 30 % of school teachers under 30 have one.

Back in the mid 90s one of our players got inked. Had to keep it covered during the game. The tat itself was in good taste, just school policy at the time I assume.

Four years ago, two of our players with tats were allowed to keep them uncovered.

I have seen two 9th graders on opposition teams with tattoos this season.  That's a little young, IMO.

I will probably never get one but I can appreciate the reasons that people do.

AirWarren

9th grade? Tattoos?

That's why kids are crap because the parents are failing them. I got mine when I was 23. And I wish I hadn't gotten it. And it's a cross on my back. Waste of money.

Missco

Some of these kids have tough lives. The blame goes on the parents. The kids can't help.it. They don't choose the situation they are born into.
