Who all will be there.. competing, watching, cheerin on etc?

I will be there watching and rooting on Julia Huie in the girls 800 and Jeffrey Lovelis in the Mile and 800.

UALR11

I barely squeaked in in the 3200 it was the strongest year in a while lol... from what I understand they are only taking one person that didn't win per event?  Wow talk about walking a fine line

I've got a kid who will be there.  I'm not sure how he will do seeing how he is injured, but he still wants to go and he deserves to go rightfully after winning his event at state.

Nashville brings:
AJ Whitmore-Triple Jump
Dee Sasser-Shot Put
Jeffrey Lovelis-800 meter run and 1600 meter run

It is in Cabot this year.

jacketpride07

katrinas who are you bringing and from what school?

UALR11

Whitmore made it in the triple jump?  Was his time the top time out of all the state meets that didn't win? wow.  I wish they would allow 10 kids in the meet of champs.  If they don't do something to boost competition track will water down in a couple years with only 16 teams in a state meet.  I feel like knowing the rogers boys weren't going to be in my state meet affected my training intensity a margin.  If they only allot the top time there will still be 4 sub 940 guys in the 2 mile.  But if they were to allow the traditional 3 extra it would probably be the most solid 2 mile meet of champs since the late 80s when crosset and berryville could compete with the big schools.

jacketpride07

I am really lookin forward to watching that race.

UALR11

I don't think Whitmore made the MOC...the number one jump not a winner was 44's

No it wasnt. Greg Childs of Warren won the event but Whitmores distance qualifies him to be in the Meet of Champs simply because it was longer than some of the other classifications. Dee Sasser also go second in shot but he beat out 3 other classification's 1st place shot putters to qualify himself to go to the Meet of Champs.

jacketpride07

Shall I ask again, meeting place at Cabot on wednesday anyone?

MHSGrad

I'll be there to cheer on 5A.. I want to see West Helena break 8 minutes in the 4x800.. and see the battle between FC and Magnolia for the 4x400 crown.. the two mile looks like the best overall race.. from what I've seen... but as for relays.. the 4x800.. with Alma,Helena, and Rogers all running sub-8 10s.. it should be an awesome day in Cabot!

They are only taking 1 kid who did not win state is what I am saying(instead of the top 3 like every other year).  Whitmore might go but as of right now as long as no one scratches out of the smaller classes he is an alternate.  Because the 2nd place in 6A and 7A both jumped farther than AJ so one of them will be the extra man that made MOC.

Ryder did you qualify in the 2 mile?  If so what time does the event start?  I don't think I will stay long enough for the running events although I wish I could.

I'd like to offer congrats to Ryder as well for his 2nd place finish.  And, his time of 9:41:12 was the third fastest of all classifications I believe. Right Ryder?

Katrinas, the boys 3200 race is listed as starting at 8:20pm according to a link listed on the AAA.  Here's the starting time for all events:

There are going to be many exciting races as usual at this meet.  But, the 100 Meters which features Cobb of Magnolia with his recent 10.63 and Rose of Arkansas High with his recent 10.68 should be a dandy. 10.54 is the MOC record.  One of these might be able to break it.  Could be very interesting...

Zach_Lemmond4x8

I'll be at the Meet of Champs.  I'll be competing in the mile run.  I won my State this year with a 4:53 and I'm going for our school record.

Agreed.. Cobbs isn't as strong in the 200, but his 100 time is ridiculous.. and only a sophomore! I'll hopefully be there

I wonder if Purvis is going to run both the mile and 2 mile at the MOC?  If you can remember last year Hall from Jessieville only elected to run the 2 mile at the MOC instead of both races.  This would seem to be a very smart move to give yourself more of a chance to win one of the 2 races, rather than burning yourself out on the mile first and then have nothing left for the 2.

Some of these times are slow to make it a real Meet of Champs, but thats what you get when you get 1st from each class, but more than 1 should have been able to qualify if based on time.  Also, I think you forgot Alma in the 4x800 and who was the extra qualifier in the 110 hurdles?  I know Spencer from Bryant did get first in PV but did he not make it to the MOC?

I am anxious to see how Carlos Arce from DeQueen stacks up against the competition.
Both the 110 & 300 Hurdles are going to be hot races.  Lampkins, Arce, Cross and O'Guinn(from Magnolia) are all going to be in the hunt along a few others.
Should be exciting. Who all will be in Cabot tomorrow that posts on here? I know mh0835 will be.... I will be.... anyone else?

ill be there tomorrow on Helena-West Helena's 4x8 team

MHSGrad

are you a senior chsrunner? Also, what was ur split time at state?
