Just curious, what is the best the best game your HS has ever played in that you witnessed?

Mine would have to be either vs West Fork or vs Earle. I think Earle might take it just because of the hype building up to it. But beating WF in the finals the way it happened is unforgettable.

What's yours and why?

Colt86

I'm gonna have to say the 1985 game against PB Dollarway.  Great game by 2 really good teams. Both teams had great talent plus some.

2nd rd playoff game vs CHG, #1 Colts trailed at half 27-00 with Brown hurting but somehow came out and put up 28 unanswered points to win the game and go on to win the state title finishing the season 15-0  :o :o :o 8) ;D

OLDSCHOOL82

Most exciting, or nerve racking, or memorable?  Boonevilles state final last year is up there.  Almost a 5 hr game!

jr17

Mayflower vs Glen Rose in 2008 in the 2nd round of the playoffs, Mayflower returns a kickoff with 4 seconds left then punches.in the 2 pt conversion for the win. Unforgettable

2nd Round of the 2000 Playoffs
Junction City @ Charleston
Dragons trailed 21-14 late in the 4th quarter, but have the ball trying to tie the game. They're getting big chunks of yardage with their Wishbone attack. They get in the red zone, and for some strange reason, Coach Carpenter calls a pass play to the end zone. Jeff Long of Charleston intercepts the ball 3 yards deep, and races 103 yards for the touchdown.
Final score:
Tigers 28. Dragons 14

The Rivercrest vs CHG was by far the best game I've ever seen in person.  In any sport.  Unbelievable comeback.

Even though FL lost.. This one was a good one.  Also for FL the 08 qtr final game. A FG near the end of the game to take  the lead 22-21.. At Prescott.

RabidWolf

That was an excellent game. If i recall correctly, FL put together and excellent drive to march down and kick the FG.

Two years later was also a very good game when Prescott's Jesse Glass found Trevor Rucker open almost 60 yards down the field and set up a go ahead TD with less than a minute to go to take the lead. The Cobra's and Curley Wolces had some very good games in that time span including a state championship matchup in Conway at UCA. FL had a RB that ran wild on prescott, Makin I believe. What happened to him?

I believe he was a walk-on at Arkansas State. He got injured a time or two and not sure after that.

Osceola def Greenwood 41-39 in the 1998 semi-finals. Lost to Alma in championship game.

The Seminoles played in 4 straight title games 95-98.

BUCK FEVER

After defeating Junction city 2 years in a row in 96 and 97, The Bucks tried for 3 in row against the Dragons, both teams were undefeated in conference play..........Bucks led at halftime, Dragons went ahead 20-19 in the 4th qtr......................Late in the 4th, Bucks moved the ball 70 yards, but with the clock winding down Bucks on frth and goal handed the ball to Petey Boone on a sweep .....Petey was knocked out of bounds at the 1 yard line, The dragons ran the clock out with seconds to play, winning 20-19 and the conference title.

Still not sure why coach Rich did not kick the chip shot field goal ........

I thought the the '95 Smackover team got a win over JC too and the '98 game would have been 4 in a row if the Bucks had pulled it out.  Carpenter wasn't the coach in '95 but it was still a Dragon loss.

That '98 Smackover/JC games did sound like a good one though.  JC ended up 10-1 that year and the current playoff streak got started.  Of course I can't see a 20-19 final without thinking of the '06 Jessieville/JC state championship game. :'(

But just to bring a little perspective to the younger posters with your '96 and '97 reference, getting a win over a David Carpenter team was not as difficult before 1998 as it has been since then.

First stint 1990:  1-8
               1991:  3-6
               1992:  5-4
               1993:  4-4-1
1994:  RIF'd with others as a result of the loss of the Union Parish kids

Rehired    1996:  3-7  (AAA dropped JC in classification due to the loss of those Union Parish kids).
               1997:  4-6
               1998:  10-1 (playoff streak started)

And looking at the score, it would appear the '97 Smackover/JC game (13-12) was a good one too.

Here's my top 24 in no particular order.

2006 Prescott over West Fork in semis 19 to 18 after trailing 18 to 0 at halftime.
2011 Prescott over Fountain Lake 37 to 34 J. Glass to T. Rucker for 60+ yards and then D. McCoy runs it in with 30 seconds to go.
2009 Prescott over Rivercrest in semis trailing 14 to 6 at halftime the Wolves scooped and scored three times in the second half to walk away with a 42 to 28 win.
1973 Prescott over Dequeen 26 to 22 (score might be wrong) T. Spearmon to J. Langston for 60 + yard touchdown with a minute to go for district championship which led to second consecutive state championship. Wolves allowed only 35 points the entire season while going 13 and 0.
1995 Prescott over Nashville in state championship 14 to 8.
2011 Prescott over Nashville 28 to 21.
2011 Prescott over Glen Rose 20 to 7 for district championship.
2011 Prescott over Earle 20 to 14 in quarterfinals Wolves stopped Autrey Allen on the last play of the game from the goal line.
1985 Prescott over Nashville 7 to 0 in the first round of the playoffs in Nashville.
1986 Prescott over Dardanelle 18 to 15 in the first round of the playoffs.  J. Morrow to C. Johnson for 40 + yards with a minute to go.
1972 Prescott over Clarendon 26 to 24 for state championship.
1975 Prescott over DesArc 29 to 22 for state championship.
2002 Prescott over Ozark 32 to 19 in quarter finals.
1996 Prescott over McGehee 34 to 12 in second round of playoffs.

1973 Prescott over Booneville 52 to 0 in second round of playoffs.
1995 Prescott over Clarksville 32 to 26 in semis.  C.D. Flemons sacked qb to end game.
1997 Prescott over Bebee 54 to 18 in first round of playoffs.
2012 Prescott over Mayflower 69 to 24 in second round of playoffs.
2009 Prescott over Rison 42 to 35 in week 10 for District Championship.
1999 Prescott over Nashville 36 to 8 for inside track to District Title.
1988 Prescott over Gurdon 7 to 6 to gain a share of the 7-3A District Crown.  Gurdon was huge favorites in the game only to have their high powered offense get shut down by the swarming Curley Wolf defense.

AmSycho

1999 unranked Prescott 36-8 over then #1 Nashville. Andrew Fellows and Calvin Flemons pouded the Scrapper quarterbacks behind the LOS all night. The only Nashville score came late in the game. It was over from the opening kickoff.

I really hope some of you guys have a life outside of high school football.

Snoop, are you just looking through the prescott archives or did you personally witness all of these games starting in 72'?

ECS's best game came last year in the regular season against Barton, with multiple plays that were incredible to see at the high school level. The best play play came from Safety William McCastlain, when he chased Barton's QB down the field and stripped the ball to give ECS the upper hand. Can't wait for football season!

I added two games....Can't believe I didn't have the Rison game from 2009 in there.  Added the 1999 Nashville game also Psycho, but I'm not sure that was the final in that game.  Also I saw every one of these games except the 72, 73, and 75 games and the 1985 Dardanelle game and the 1999 Nashville game.  Throw in the 2008 Rison game as well a 22 to 19 victory for Prescott and the District Championship.  The 2012 45 to 23 win over Smackover was a good one too.

That Rison game at Rison in 2009 was very good. I was there and Prescott won 38 to 31. They traded scores through out the whole game. The Prescott and Rison games in 2008 and 2009 were for the district championship and Prescott won both of them.

Yeah really, what are we supposed to talk about on a football message board?  Our other hobbies?  I was under the impression we were supposed to talk a little football....Glad to know we think alike Oldman, but not everyone gets it......When the championships are in the teens and the playoff wins are in triple digits I guess we have to think a little alike though!!!!  LOL

I'll do some for WF. Gotta start with the 2006 season.
2006
Week 9: Senior night for the Tigers as they host undefeated Shiloh Christian for the conference championship. We led them 7-6 at half to go on to lose 32-7. It was a tough loss but it sparked the team to a semifinal run. Also holding Shiloh to their lowest scoring game.
1st round we beat tradition rich Rison 35-15 and went on to beat conference champs Lavaca and Harrisburg on the road.
2010
Quarterfinals 11-0 Glen Rose hosts 10-2 WF. We were predicted to lose by double digits only to win by that. Final score was 27-7

Longfellow

My pick is Two Rivers vs. Centerpoint last year. Maybe because that was my senior homecoming. Score was 52-49. We drove 75 yards down the field and as time expired our kicker missed a field goal by about a foot. Talk about a tough one to lose!!

Proud Buckaroo

I think a game centerpoint played last year i would have liked to see was the Melbourne game.

Here's one Charleston Fans will love....Hector @ Charleston in 1998. We won by a TD or something like that. Was first and only one of 2 times that we've managed to beat Charleston. Think it was 34-28, deciding play involved a defensive touchdown....To young to remember this one So I'll leave it to those guys to describe it :D

I added the 1988 Prescott vs. Gurdon game to the list.

1999 quarterfinals Booneville over Warren in overtime. I was only 11 years old at the time, but I still remember it clearly.

Best game I ever played in was the aforementioned 2004 quarterfinals, Booneville 70, Shiloh 28
