No real surprise on the winners.  I'd like to see a real MoC similar to how basketball used to have an overall state championship.  Put in the same conditions I think Magnolia and probably even Crossett could hold their own.  Alma and Vilonia could rack up some points as well.

Braddy is a stud.  10.57 100, 21.78 200, 50.07 400 (far from his PR), 23' 4.5" LJ, 6'2" HJ, and 45 points.  I'm sure he was also a part of the 4x100 and 4x400 teams as well, so that's another 5 points to give him a total of 49.5.

He couldn't have been.. you can only do 3 and 2.. or a total of 5 events.. Very impressive though.. Notice the 4x8.. That might have gotten Alma and Magnolia in the MoC

Yeah I didn't think about the limit.  Still racked up 45 points.  We might see Sax from Vilonia do something similar in a couple of years.

Really unimpressive 4x8 times for 7A.  Not what I expected.  I wonder what their exact conditions were?  The 5A 4x8 times were really killed by the wind.  Pretty tough to fight a 15-20 mph headwind for about 400m of each leg.

The 7A 100 times were impressive.  I was stoked all week about getting to see the 100 at 5A state and of course the conditions are terrible for anyone to put up a great time.  I had counted 6 or 7 sub 11s going into the meet and Orlando "only" managed a 11.05 to place 1st.  I was hoping to see him put up a 10.6 and a couple of other high 10.6s to 10.8s.

I don't think Sax will be able to do that b/c of the kid from crossett... Maybe 36?.. 2 1st and 2 2nd.. I just dont think he is that good in the 100 and 200.. We shall see.. Vilonia is only losing like 20 pts for next year.. it all comes down to if they can improve.. Same with Crossett.. They are returning Orlando ( who cant do any better than this year) and 1.5 pts in the PV.. thats it

Yeah Orlando slipped my mind.  Sax could go 1st in the 110s and 300s but he'll have to have the race of his life in the 100 and 200 to beat Orlando.

I think Vilonia will improve.  They've got a good thing going there.  I'd say the same about Crossett but I really think it's going ot come down to numbers for them.  Alma is on their way to probably having several "down" years in a row.  If Crossett and Vilonia weren't so strong then I'd still think we could finish 2nd a couple of times at state.  Vilonia has what Alma had in '04 and '05:  depth and an elite athlete that can compete on the statewide level in the 100 and 200.  When one of us and/or Vilonia gets a sprinter who's a low 11 high 10 in the 100, 22 in the 200, and 49-50 in the 400, theyn they'll have the depth to win a state championship.  Unfortunately those two schools only get a kid like that maybe once or twice a decade.  You give Alma the 2nd or 3rd best sprinter from one of the "speed" schools each of the last 7 years and we might have 4 or 5 state championships.  ;)   Considering we're lucky to get a total of 10 points in the 100/200/400/LJ/TJ most years, in all honesty, we're just one kid away from winning state most years.  Give us a kid or two who finish an average of 5th in all 5 of those events and that's 20 more points.
