What do you ride? How long have you been riding?
At the moment, I cruise around on 72 CB500 my pops and I built, a custom CBR600RR I built. We're in the process of building a 69 CB350T, and a 82 CB750 DOHC. And I picked up a Heritage Softail a month or so back. I have a shop full of others to build once I get the time.
Outside of the Heritage, all are one of a kind customs.
06 VROD Screamin Eagle - I don't ride it, I fly it!
04 Honda VTX1300, that I need you to sale...
49 CC Scooter, sell that too.
We need to take the V-Rod and my CBR out to Centerville one Sadurday night.
I know a lot closer place.. :)
This guy rides a Harley and will be doing so for a long, long time:
http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/news/local-man-to-be-buried-atop-motorcycle/nc7p6/
I saw that on the USA Today app earlier. That is absolutely awesome. I want to be buried on the first custom bike I built now.
Valley,
I got pulled over doing 172 a couple of years ago, luckily, the cop was a rider (had a R1), and he let me off with a warning. I prefer to keep it on a track these days.
U saw blues as I passed him. Pulled over, parked the bike, took my helmet off leaned up against the bike and waited on him. He says "I'm surprised you stopped." Told him I could have gotten away from him, but not from his radio. He told me he'd already called me in on the other side of the bridge. We got to talking about bikes, and he gave me a warning.
Wonder what a ticket would cost at 172 mph..
The airport runway is 1 mile long x probably 30 yds wide, smooth, swept, and maintained. And I have it all to myself - at certain times of the day/night. I've ordered a Popcorn Popper for the hangar.
There is no ticket. There is a we impound your bike and pop you with a felony.
They should impound Valleys for free.....his scooter is plenty fast enough. Lol!;)
Honestly - I doubt there are many riders on FF, Bri. Most of the these guys are mini-van (frat) types, a few would probably prefer riding passenger (politically correct term).

since when are you so worried about being politically correct?? If that's the case what about equality?
The most commonly used word doesn't get past the FF word sensor. Equality? I think everyone is treated the same when it comes to motorcycles. I'm certainly for equality! Bri - would you go back and put "Boy's Only" in the subject title please.......

2003 Harley V-Rod with 23,000 miles. Excellent running condition. Lots of chrome, located in Sherwood. $8,000.00.
How much they asking on the Ironhead? I've been looking for an IH engine/tranny to do a build around.

She built that bike herself, it's pretty rad.
He's answered $2000 obo, doesn't sound bottom $ to me.
Meh', in that condition, I'd five him $750-$1,000.
Kinda what I thought - I'll keep an eye on it. $8,000 for that 03 VROD, with 23,000 miles, makes me feel good about the 06 screamin eagle, with 1800 miles.

Hey Diehard - post that pic of you on your bike?
LOL!
Have a 1996 Dyna Glide bought new, has only 14,000 miles. As you can see don't ride enough, but did take it to Daytona bike Wk. one yr. I met a guy from NY. who did free hand painting and it was amazing to watch him mix paint to match your bike. I had him to paint "Tear Drops" on my gas tank and finders with a few other designs. It turned out beautiful. The down side was it rained 6 out of the 7 days I was there but still had a wonderful time with est. 200,000 bikers! Looking to go back this Yr.
Daytona Bike Week is 200,000+ bikers.
You said hand painting, are you talking about pinstripping?

Sorry, I left out a 0. Will modify! No pinstripping, actual free hand painting. Like I said, watched him mix the paint and do the painting. It took 2 hrs. to finish. He stayed busy the hold wk, probably had to turn some away. Tear Drops out lined in dark Green with beautiful Gold in the middle.
Can you post a pic of what you mean.
Sounds like you're talking about free hand pinstripping with paint, which is how the good ones do it. Most think of it as laying tape down.
Or, do you mean airbrushing?

No tape or airbrushing. Watched him paint free hand just like someone would draw a Tear Drop on a piece of paper. Amazing Artist!
You mean something along these lines? My lady friend did this bike yesterday, freehand.

Nice pinstripping, are ya'll going to set up on the main strip or close to the race track?
Find out next week. We were invited a couple weekends ago at a show in Miami. I imagine being a late addition, it won't be on Main St.
I don't trust other drivers enough to ever hop on a bike.
Ride defensively in town, let her scream when you're not in town.
I've laid one bike down due to another driver. Fortunately, I knew what I was doing and lowsided it, rather than highsiding and getting thrown.

1250CC's of unleashed Screamin Eagle - Bringitontime!
My little 600'll smoke that thing.
Like most Harley's, though, it looks pretty :-).
Now you know Porsche engineers designed this for the Harley-Porsche Racing Team. This one was dialed down just enough to be street legal and that's questionable. Keep that 600 out of the way - I might not be able to hold this beast back....
She's pushing 200mph after a cam job and removing close to 100lbs. That V-Rod tops at 165.
I know all about Porsche's involvement in the V-Rod. Same size engine as the Sportster, putting out double the power. Didn't go over well with the typical Harley crowd.

Sure, but you can do everything right and still get killed. I had a cousin in Benton who was killed a couple years ago on a bike due to another driver.
I've always wanted to ride one, but that soured things quite a bit.
I mean, yeah, you'll always be at a greater risk. But, what's the fun in not taking risks? I absolutely love riding, it ranks right up there with practicing babymaking, and leads to a lot of said behavior.

I'd ride a bike, but not in a metro area. My daily commute takes me on some major interstates and roads... I don't like the idea of being on the same road as 9000 lb Tahoes and Semis.
Maybe if I ever move back to Oxford, MS and live on the square again (those were the days) I'd get a bike.
Those California Customs seem nice (Anybody ever test ridden one?):
http://www.motoguzzi-us.com/motorcycles/california-1400-custom.html (http://www.motoguzzi-us.com/motorcycles/california-1400-custom.html)
Same price as a Dyna and a few more gadgets.
I've always been a fan of the Guzzi's. Been on the lookout for an old one for a while now.
I've ridden around Tampa for years. I was iffy for the first few months, now big cities don't bother me much anymore.
Got a line on an early 50's Ducati that was raced at Daytona (Premier race of that time). I doubt he lets it go for less than $10K, but I'm going to try to wriggle it away from him. The owner is the one who raced it.
I've been working on getting you a shot at some old bikes Breitontime. Several 80'ish yr old gentlemen, I know, have old motorcycles. The one's you'd be interested were raced in California, then he moved back to Centerville and parked them, in a barn, 40 yrs ago. I think one is a Ducati - I don't know motorcycle history enough to remember, but he still wants to hold on to them. I don't know if you'd be interested in Cushman's? Another friend restored a half dozen Cushman's, decades ago, been sitting under blankets in an old shop for years. I've seen them - pretty neat. Need to be in a Museum.
Cushman's are worth some bank. Especially ones that old.
Here's one from Miami a few weeks ago. Pretty sweet little scoot.
Bre - do you paint? Don't know why I didn't think of this before.... Got something I need to paint - don't tell Xtreme - I've been restoring a 1990 Miata... Don't have to be that good of a job, just a run-around while I put another two years on the 3/4 ton. Then I'll get a 2014 1/2 ton.
Yeah, I have a paint set up. Though, it's set up for motorcycles.
Good enough - we'll have to discuss it after Datona Bike Week.
You'll have to catch me after Riding Into History in May.
Most exclusive bike show in the country, invite only. I have to have perfection built for that. Soon as Daytona is over, it'll be to work for that.
Somehow tonight, I allowed my friends to drag me out for drinks, now, I'm back at the shop, staring down a 18-19 hour day on no sleep.
Oh I'm in no hurry - just need some direction on the paint. I can spray it in front of the hangar, on a windless day. ;)
Sturgis just added to the schedule. Going to a show in Milwaukee, then heading straight to Sturgis. We're going to do it like Manly Men, and ride it.
On my way to Benton at the moment, picking up motorcycle #73.
What's this one?
Picked up another DOHC CB750K to cafè out.
Any thoughts on the new small Harley? It's price point puts it in market with Triumph and the V7. It's assembled in KC but most if the parts are foreign. Will it attract enough entry level riders or city folk to differentiate itself from the sportster?
You talking about the XR500 and 750?
They are trying to pay homage to the XR750's of old. And, they do a half decent job, other than being mainly Indian. But, mainly geared towards hipsters and chicks.
Picked up a Marchesini wheel and a Ducati 748 swingarm with a brembo caliper for the bike I am building for Sturgis. Paid $350 for the lot. Retail on the wheel alone is $2,399. Absolute steal of a deal.
And, now she's going to be a fat bottom girl.

Harley can't hardly get the electrics right on their bikes that require a simple harness, and they want to run production on a full electric bike? Lolz.
Look for the price tag to be in the $45,000-$60,000 range, as the top electric manufactures are now.
$300 Metzler on front. Nothing wrong the Dunlop, but that cracking - hated doing it, but feel better on step.
Ouch. Told you it'd be pricey with it being an 18". Dry rot does indeed suck. That tire had a good 3-4,000 miles left.
After I put 100 miles on it, I might get you to run it up over 100 - see if it has any wobble after 2nd gear.
I use to have a Honda 50. Does that count? :)
My neighbor is rashed up pretty good. Car just locked up in front of him, he locked his rear tire, and got high sided this afternoon.

Not much a fan of them, but the Can-Am Spyders are a badA piece of machinery. Would never own one, but they are fun. Above that, the T-Rex.
As for mopeds, those buffoons try to initiate the biker wave all the time. I usually flip them a birdie.

You wouldn't dare! :-\ Mine has the single VH pipe. CNBC did a Modern Marvels special, yesterday, about Harley's 20 Acre VROD Factory. Got me fired up - made that my desktop pic. Someone told me that I need to see A&E's show on the VROD's engine and the testing it goes through.
Best bike Harley ever built. Yet the typical "Harley crowd" absolutely despises it.
The engine was designed and built by Porsche.
The Harley Crowd and I have difference taste in bikes and women! ;)
I want to do something along these lines. Build a single side swinger, I can build all the body work myself, more than likely out of carbon fiber.

That's a really cool looking bike but man it looks uncomfortable to ride
The controls need to be moved back to make it comfortable with the low bars. With low bars, your feet should be right under your boys to make it more comfortable, and not bad for the back.
It always amazes me on builds like this one, that people do not account for riding position in the design phase.
Then again, that particular bike is built to look pretty and be trailered around, not ridden.
That's a mean looking bike!
Oddly enough most of the Harley crowd hated it because it was liquid cooled. Harley is in the process of making them all liquid cooled. My grandfather bought a 2013 Ultra Glide rather than the '14 because it is air cooled.
To me there is so much less heat with the water cooled!
Talked with a feller, yesterday, has the 2006 Street Rod. Said 06-07 Street Rod controls were centrally located. Harley was trying to cross over - I'm assuming. I don't like the elevated seat though and you know I'm partial to that Eagle.

C'mon 84 - I'm retired - you see what I'm riding. That 1250cc's of Red/Chrome heck's Fury, keeps these kids in their place. ;D
My red one above, has changed colors a couple times now. The head designer at Confederate Motorcycles has been trying to buy it for nearly a year, ever since he saw it at a show last fall.
Any of you guys go to the inaugural Steel Horse Rally in Ft. Smith? I wanted to check it out, but had a show in Dallas that weekend.
I've hardly ridden the VROD - rains every day. Have ridden the 1300, after putting on a new battery & cleaning the carb up. ::) Time to get that bike out on the curb.
I've been putting around on my 77 XS650. Too crappy out to ride one of the nice ones. Have another build that will be wrapped up and out the door this week, then starting on a twin Harley build. One for me, one for the pops.
I still have an itch to to a big bore kit on my 750, and a turbo, but it's a lot of work.
MANNNNN - I got to ride the power tonight. Leaving Dover on the VROD - dark - just let her ease on out at the 60 mph sign - felt so smooth, looked at the speedometer - 100. Guess it didn't seem like it because of the dark - couldn't see pavement going by. Just so hard to resist! :-\
WHEN I win the lottery, I'm retiring, buying a black Slingshot with a Batman symbol on the front, put on a Batman suit, and travel the country, visiting children's hospitals.
Just finished painting a new one. She'll be finished and on the road tomorrow.

Bahama Blue, with Cobalt Blue flake in the paint. Going to mix in some chrome flake in the first coat of clear, let it flash off enough to sand smooth, and hit it with 3-4 more coats of clear. Then cut and buff. Going to look spectacular when finished in a day or two.

My crotch rocket from 1972. I know it doesn't count as a real motorcyle to the purist, but it was alot of fun when you're 16 years old
Reminds me of the Honda 500 my cousin let me ride back in the 1970's
1973 Honda CB500K I just finished building. She'said heading to her new home in a couple weeks. Though, outside of the motor, she looks nothing like she did in 73.

You have been voted off the island - pick up your purse and leave now.
I got a bum leg that will not support the weight of a regular full size Road bike.
Okay - guess you get an exemption.
Bre it looks like you did a great job building a beautiful bike that just ain't my style. ;D

Good Job!
Yep Valley back in 06 I was in a bad wreak and it tore up my right leg pretty good. I rehabbed it and I can walk most days with out a cane. But Holding up a Bike is out of the question.

This is what I want.

I like the ice chest in the back and what I assume is a very comfortable seat for those of us with enlarged prostates!

Bought just about everything I need for my bobber build this weekend. Leather solo saddle, forks, two 26" spoked rims, hydraulic clutch. Just need to fab up the hardtail on the frame and put it together.
This is what I was at this weekend. Largest vintage event in the country. Racing, largest motorcycle museum in the world ($78M in bikes in it), vendors, a swap meet. The tits, essentially. Had to make a lap on my 71 Zuki two stroke with the GoPro.

Valley, the V, is it a mag or spokes in the back? I'mean about to start a bobber build. Want to run a wide tire in the back, VROD size, and a springer with a 32" wheel in the front.
I'll be riding next week - will drop by.

Nice ride.
Thanks
Too much fun and gets a lot of attention. :D
She's off to a new owner in Chi-Town as soon as he gets shipping arranged. Always makes me kind of sad when one of my gals leaves home. Oh well, on to the next one. In the process of selling this one, I lined up three more builds for customers, one heading to the UK.

You gonna jump on that CB200? How does a professional check the motor out, say it's good, but never start it presumably because carb is plugged?
That's why I asked. That motor hasn't been checked unless it was opened up.
I don't need a baby bike. I just got started on this one.

+1
With my daughter going to a private college I won't be getting a Bike any time soon.
Any of you riding folks going to any of the rallies/shows around the state this weekend?
Steel Horse in Ft. Smith.
XS650 Society in Mt. View
Pipes & Tails in LR.
I'm going to try to do a day of all three. Thurs in Mt. View on my 77XS. Friday at Steel Horse on one of the Harley's, and I'very been asked to bring the DOHC to LR Saturday by one of the sponsors, and doing a photoshoot for a magazine while in LR.
She's looking good. Making a new part a day this week to dress her up a bit before the shoot. Be nice and billety by the weekend.
Going tomorrow to get some decals made out of stainless vinyl with my logo for tank badges.
