C. Harmony Grove Will Come Out With A Win On This One
This game is at JC, going with the Dragons by 13.
Hornets have scrimmaged well with JC the past two years and they have two kids recognized on the Hooten's 3A Super Team, as well as other legit playmakers. They may not win in JC, but it won't be a blowout. I say the game will be within 8 points......either team could win. It'll be a good one.
Didn't JC win the scrimmage 42 - 6 last year? Pretty sure we put our 10th graders in the whole last series of plays.

No Sir they did not. My son was a senior; I was there. The scrimmage was tied three scores each at halftime. CHG played nearly all backups after halftime and JC scored three more times on us. JC pulled away and probably were playing backups as well, maybe the entire second half too. I don't know about that.
After the scrimmage was over, our starters said they wished it had been a real game and they had been in for the duration. Moving the ball and scoring multiple times on the Dragons gave our kids confidence. There's a respect there. We would have liked a chance to beat you guys, but it was a scrimmage and coaches need to see who can do what just in case a starter goes down during the season.
This year it'll count. We'll see how we do.
This game is drawing near now. I still think the Hornets can win this game. It'll be a good one.
Hornets by two touchdowns.
Should be a good game and I plan on being there.
Will the groves qb be 100% that could be the difference

You're right it was 48 - 20
so like he said 20-20 at half then they put in subs and yall poured it on with the starters.
More like 48-6 then jc let the HG get a couple scores to boost their moral

Nope, you weren't there or you wouldn't have posted such an ignorant post. It happened like I said......check around and ask some Dragon fans who were there who would be willing to tell THA TRUTH.
H.G. running backs looked good the other night against Hampton. That will be enough for them to win. I say H. G. 28 j.c.14

Grove 34-28
I don't know if Grove will win this game, but I think it could make out to a great week 1 game. As of right now I pick HG to win, but it is a toss game to me.

Surely your joking? There is a little bit of difference between the backs looking good against Hampton's second and third team versus JC's first team

I thought our RBs looked good for most of the game and Hampton had to have their starters in for at least part of the first half. Maybe one of our RBs will look decent tonight against the Dragons.......we've only got four of them, surely somebody can get past the line of scrimmage. We'll see tonight.

I've been watching. Is it 12 or 14? I thought 12.
Scoreboard shows 14. Signal on the last HG coversion looked like the ref closest to the play was auditioning for The Temptations. His arms went about 3/4 up then straight out in front of him. I couldn't tell if the kid got in or not but apparently he did.
Ok cool. I thought Jacob knew what he was talking about but I never got the official signal either via live feed.

Good game JC, HG earned some respect tonight! I figured HG could be 2-1 going into the conference schedule
Wow. Great job to HG. Def seemed in better shape than JC. Couple of studs on the team too. Hope JC keeps it going next week against Smackover. I love football.
Anybody know what happened to Dhante Gibson? He played well the first half but didn't see him in any second half.

Came out holding his shoulder.....
I heard coller bone from his family in the stands. Supposed to be going to the hospital now.
Slowest JC team I've ever seen and in the worse shape also. Harmony Grove played a great game. No surprise at how it ended they were in great shape and came to play. Junction will have a hard row to hoe if they don't come and play two half's.
Kudos to CHG. They never gave up and got themselves back in the game. #3 is harder to catch than a greased chicken.
JC has work to do. Too many holes in the pass defense and not wrapping up. Too many cramps and sloppy in the fourth. The running back tandem and the big O-line were working well early but the Dragons were almost down to no running backs by the end of the game.
OOC games are to learn from. Congratulations to the Dragons for defending The Lair.
Definitely not in shape but give credit to HG they definitely have something to keep their head up for considering they out ran us and didn't do too bad against probably the biggest line in 2a. We have a young team though and would of liked to see a more mobile qb. Hats off to Cook he did all he could considering playing both sides of the ball. Also #11&12 will get better but we're gonna need someone to help Cook run if Gibson has to miss any games and work with our linebackers

Must respect to you Junction City fellas! Them Hornet's are on a mission again!
REALLY, REALLY, IMPRESSED with the hornets! Never gave up and gave us fits all night, and y'all definitely have some studs on y'all's team ! Best of luck to yall for the rest of the year.
Proud of my guys. Dang good game.

See you in the Grove next week!
If your a 3A team and get beat by a 2A team , then how can you be excited about your team this year. And JC played a sloppy game and still won!!!

I guess you forget not to many years ago there was a 3A team that JC beat, who ended up playing for a State Championship. CHG looked good last night, very well could have gone their way several times. #3 is a playmaker and #7 can go up and grab one from outer space.

Its called character. JC does have a lot of history in winning in more than one classification. They manhandled a smaller team the whole first half and despite that they dug in and made a game of it being down 18 at one point. The Grove has some speed and some good talent. Number 3 is fast and allusive, 2 is a very talented receiver and their QB wasn't no slouch either.....

Here's what you don't KNOW, BO.....both of these schools are right on the classification cutoff number. They also haven't played since 2007. As I'm sure you do KNOW, Junction City has quite a reputation as always fielding a good team and its no fluke when they get beat, especially at their place. CHG has been very competetive the last three years beating what are considered very good teams in 3A like Prescott, Smackover, Atkins, and McGehee and 2A teams such as Rison, Hampton, Bearden, Hector, Hazen, East Poinsett County, Cross County, and Palestine Wheatly.
We graduated a very talented group of seniors and hired nearly a whole new coaching staff in May and no one really knew how the Hornets would play this year. So......we open up this new season full of uncertainty with Junction City at Junction City. Not exactly a 2A cupcake, right?
If you were there, BO, then you would KNOW that we had a nice start to last night's game, then found ourselves down 32-14 at the half.......which is exactly how JC makes most people feel when visiting their place. New coach, new names under the old jersey numbers for the black & gold......getting their butts tore up at Junction just as nearly everyone predicted. Then our guys made a great comeback and took the game into OT, but ultimately lost......to a "2A school."
I guess you just had to be there to be proud of your team after losing to such a lowly opponent. I'll tell you this BO, you don't KNOW $hi+.
Click, Click, BOOM!!!!!!
Well said, CHG! Nothing at all to be ashamed of. Best of luck the rest of your season. Do yall play Bo's boys? If so, come back here and let us know how bad yall smoke em!

Thanks Dad. Well we're 3A now so we don't usually mess around with 2A pions anymore, but we did scrimmage them good old boys from Calhoun County last week and beat em 32-7. But of course it was just a scrimmage and they weren't playing their starters and we are a 3A team now and probably shouldn't have been beating up on a 2A team like them anyway. BO should KNOW about that, but I guess he forgot. :)
I'm out on this. Thanks for the respect from the other posters who did KNOW just how much of a great game this was last night between two good teams.

Note: The EDNT shut down their printing operation in El Dorado. I'm not sure if the printed paper comes out of Little Rock or Texarkana, but either way it looks like Saturday printed articles (even the down and dirty versions might be a thing of the past. Although the Friday game did start at 7:30 and wasn't over until well after 10:00 so that might have been the bigger printing problem.

It's number 2 actually. Their numbers looked a lot alike but 7 is the running back and 2 is the tall rangy receiver. Yalls announcer kept saying 7 also so I can see where the confusion comes from
Yea they're printing out of little rock now.

I really like how the school posts all the pictures for everyone to see. CHG yearbook staff sponsor won't release any pictures of our games. Unsure of the reason why?
I was hoping for a good clear pic of our two point conversion attempt in OT. I saw the pylon get knocked over when Hornet QB #10 dove at it, but the refs waved it off. Actually, one signaled good at first and the other waved it off........so then they both started waving it off. Either way, it was a good game and gave us a glimpse of the season to come.
I'll bet no one else puts that many points of the Dragons this year.
It happened right in front of me He was just short .
