Win #18 for Booneville as they beat Atkins by 15.  Rocky start, but then a kid who had only scored six points all year had the game of his life with 11 points, plus our smaller post player had 18 pts/11 reb.

Atkins wins the girls game by 12.  Terrible start for Booneville down 17-3 after one, outplayed Atkins the rest of the way.

Off all of next week as the game that was to be played at TR next Fri had to be rescheduled.

In boys I know Charleston and Booneville haven't lost in conference. (Remember the first round was all non-conference, except for Booneville/Paris.  They had to swap dates due to Booneville parent/teacher conferences.)

I have no idea about the girls, except Lamar is on top with Charleston 2nd, possibly tied with one or more teams.  Booneville is 1-2, Danville probably 0-3.

Can anyone else help?

BigMan15

i know Charleston plays at Paris tommorrow then @ Charleston on Monday againest Booneville so we will know alot after Monday.

Booneville's remaining games before district tournament are:

2/1 @ Charleston
2/4 @ Paris (nonconference game)
2/5 @ TR

The first of those three is obviously the key game.  Whoever wins, wins regular season conference barring something weird happening.  (Booneville easily handled TR in the first game and I don't see that changing with the game at TR.)

Booneville has Paris tonight and Two Rivers tomorrow.  The Paris game is nonconference due to a date switch earlier in the season, while TR is the last conference game.

The boys are striving to accomplish what, to my knowledge, has never happened at Booneville for any boys basketball team at any level, which is a 20-win season.  The Jr. Cats have 18 right now.  I think both upcoming games are very winnable.

The girls have steadily improved throughout the season.  Paris is a game that I think the team could win, and maybe they will catch TR on an off night.

I look forward to next season for the girls because this season the regular starters are one freshman, three 8th graders and a 7th grader, with 8th graders being the first 3 off the bench as well.

We found a banana skin tonight. Paris 29, Booneville 28. Credit to the Eagles who played great defense in the 2nd half. Shows what can happen when you come in complacent.

Paris girls also win, 35-29.

Thank heaven this was the non-conference game.
