No problem. Britton loading up on events this year?

They're trying to figure out how to maximize his points. He had a bad start at Bryant in the 100m, but if he doesn't improve that, he may not run the 100m and instead run the 200m, 400m, 4x100, and 4x400. I think he'll bounce back on Tuesday and run some good times.

On his 400m he came out way too quickly and it cost him the last 100m. He had something to prove after the 100m. I didn't put a watch to him, but I bet he ran the first 200m in 23 seconds.

Which cost him in the 200m. He just didn't have that extra gear that he had last year when he ran a 22.50 as a sophomore. He told his coach he didn't sleep the night before.

In the 4x400, he ran a 52 split which isn't nearly as good as he's capable.

As I said before, I believe he will run well on Tuesday and we will see what happens at Russellville next Friday.

Cabot has some good sprinters so we should be in contention to win conference and possibly state. We need our young distance guys and jumpers to show up.

Here's our 4x100 team from the Heber Springs meet.

https://youtu.be/uwIP7ZOjwWQ

Alex Roberts is leg 1, Britton leg 2, Connor Daigle leg 3, and Mark Odom anchor. Odom did not push himself because of the cold weather and his hamstring issues. Everyone knew he wouldn't and we're ok with it. He'll be ready to smoke people when it warms up.

I know it is still a bit on the early side (and the weather hasn't helped things again this year) but I'm surprised by how few AQ's there are in the 5A at present.   Are the qualifying standards THAT high this year or am I just jumping the gun a bit this year?

No, the qualifying standards aren't that high at all. They've gone down a little bit the past couple of years actually. The sprints just aren't very strong this year. The 100, 200, and 4x100 times are nothing like 5A used to have. The distance events aren't too bad.

MHSGrad

I remember when 5A would rival 7A.. Maybe not beat them, but they had the talent to stay with them. Now, 5A is probably the 4th best conference behind 7A, 6A, and 4A. If you took any of the solid Magnolia, Alma, Vilonia, Hwh, Crossett, or CFV teams from the last 10 years, they run away with state this year. Sad to see it down, but 5A never disappoints at state when it comes to excitement.

Yes, but an illegal wind keeps him from the lists for now. The wind cannot be over 2.0 meters per second or it is an illegal wind. Mark's time was aided by a 2.3 meter per second tailwind.

The Vilonia relays have now been added. I would now say this has been fully updated.

I actually don't know this for sure. I've been told that if it's an FAT meet (fully automatic timing) and borders Arkansas then it counts. But that's hearsay. I can't find anything in the rules that speaks to this.
