Osceola offense is pretty good. Fast paced offense and well balanced. Noles have a lot of weapons and on last nights game 11 guys touched the ball. 3rd string qb took over after the starting qb went out with a dislocated shoulder again, after a horse collar tackle. QB MJ Vance finished with 333 total offense and noles finished well over 500 yards total. I won't say it's the best right now, but that offense is darn good.

Impressive indeed. How many players touching the ball will be returning next year?

Clinton is a powerhouse.

I was very impressed with them offensively. They'll be a handful for anyone.

It's Booneville and it's not even close... I think you guys are confusing best with flashiest.... Booneville may not be flashy, but we are talking about most effective means best right? That means Booneville's is the best. Other 3A schools will see that when the playoffs start and Booneville controls the games with its usual physicality. Osceola, Clinton, Mayflower, and others will see what old school football means when they see it eventually in person and on the losing end of the scoreboard to Booneville they will see what the most effective offense is in 3A.

How can you answer this question without seeing every 3A offense play?

Booneville would be the 3rd best team in 4A behind Warren and Robinson...... I don't need to see the rest of 3A to know they will run rough shod through them.

Wow, you sound like all the people on here from last year about their teams except none of them were the last one standing. Pretty early to boast so hard.

Most explosive and most ability to score on any play with speed and athleticism? Smackover. This team is the fastest total team I remember seeing from Smackover. Total consistency, I'd probably have to say Booneville. I agree with the comment highlighting their management and control.

Clinton is definitely the fastest team. That's undeniable.

I know for a fact Clinton is the fastest team. My son last year was the fastest sophomore in the state in the 400 in all classifications and the twins we have on the team Austin and Ethen Drake are right behind him. We are fast and strong. You do know your fast though when you run below a 50 second 400meter. Track does wonder for kids that's for sure!

lol they have stamina and you just wait to see it!! Drake put 223 yards down the field last game and my son can run a 4.4 40 .. speed for days on Clinton's team. We can throw when we need to and we can run when we need to! This year is gonna be great!

Ms. Amos, you need to relax. Clinton has a very good football team. I was thoroughly impressed. But they are not the fastest team in the state. I know you folks in Clinton take that as a slight, you did last year as well, but it's not a slight.

It is very good. I've said that on multiple threads.

Oh no.... here we go again... Clinton wins in the regular season and does not realize that means nothing when they get to the postseason. Clinton's defense is giving up points left and right. Look at Booneville's defense for a state title level winning defense.

And it's rather entertaining the people who get upset over what they call delusional fanbases.... Guess we forget Clinton went to junction City and gave them all they wanted for 4Q, and brought back most of that team....

That's why this thread is really kinda stupid and irrelevant. If you're just looking for something to speculate and shoot the breeze about, then this is your thread.

Otherwise, limiting yourself to just offense to determine who's going to go the farthest this year, is really just a waste of time.

Bingo.... Anyone that thinks Clinton is going to win a state title when they are giving up almost 30 points a game so far is delusional. They have played decent teams in there, but have not played the best they will face. Hence, we all know teams with a defense like that don't hold up a trophy in December.

Charleston does not play anything stylistic wise like Booneville so I am not sure that holds any weight at all what happened a half decade ago with Charleston to Booneville currently....

Resting a sore shoulder

Smackover Fan

Most of these comments show why I split it. Defining best offense can be so situational. If for some reason I had the option to use any offense in the state in random situations, I would for sure use Booneville, Smackover, Clinton, and Prescott. If I'm eating clock I would probably go Booneville or Clinton. Although both can score quickly, I'm more impressed by their management. Smackover if I needed a hail Mary or a screen or sweep. Prescott if I need to punch it in in a goal line situation. Charleston also proves year after year that they are just good at everything. It's an interesting topic, but at the end of the day, it's hard to call a best in High School football. Especially when you haven't seen what any of them can do against the same defenses.

I know for sure all them teams have some athletes on offense! Xaylon Falls from CHG is a offense in his own. He is arguably one of the most electrifying players in the state and is only a Junior.

Nobody said on this thread that Clinton was going to win a state title. Only that they have a very good offense. Which is in response to the question asked by the person who began the thread.

DeeGee

My opinion on best offense as of this early in the season: Boonville, Prescott, Smackover, Clinton. I have watched all the teams play over the years. And in the last 3 years I just show up at random games since my son graduated. Yes I am a football addict lol! It's really way too early in the season for this because the kids you named might end up getting a season ending injury. This is a thread for closer to play-offs, and you have to add in the teams defense as well. As the old saying goes, offense wins games, defense wins Championships.

Not sure what the point is here.

In 2013 we WERE the best offense in 4A. Anyone who claimed we had the best offense in 2014 didn't know what they were talking about, because we lost the entire offensive line from 2013. 2015 is a season to forget.

Back to 4A in 2016. 2017 made a deep competitive run into the playoffs with 3A numbers. If we were still in 4A this year, it would be hard to argue that we wouldn't have a top 3 offense (if Ulmer were still healthy).

I guess i would just like to hear an argument why Booneville wouldn't have a top 3-5 offense in 4A this year.
