The important thing for both teams to remember is this:
Warren could easily begin the season 2-3. The 'Jacks play @ 5A #1 ranked PA Week 3, and @ 4A #3 ranked Star City Week 5.
The Bucks could start the year 0-3. They have Warren on Monday, play 2A #1 JC later that same week, then go to 2A #5 ranked Gurdon in Week 3.
Does a few hiccups at the beginning of the season hurt down the road? Not really.
Take a look at the 2014 Bentonville Tigers. They began the year 0-4, including a shutout loss at Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Week 2, 34-0. The Tigers then reeled off 9 straight wins to capture the 7A Title.
Whoever loses this game, it's not the end of the world.

AirWarren

In non conference,

We started 0-3 in 2013 and played for a title.
We went 1-2 in 2014 and won a state title.

Bo usually likes to play two tough teams and one cupcake in non conference every year. PA and Smackover are definitely two favorites to win a state title.

LJ06

Warren usually plays one of the toughest non cons in the state. We usually start with a rough first 3 game record.

WPWells

I'll take Smackover by a touchdown

Anybody else notice that the Charleston fans can't talk about football anymore? Instead it's just continuous stupid stuff that even junior high girls would get tired of?

Anyway bucks in a close one...
Do you spend a lot of time talking to junior high girls?

He just let everone know his age this week and he hasn't been out of Jr High long. HF😁

bulldoghistorian

Warren is do a win in this Hootens Classic at some point, but I'm not sure it'll be this year. I'll go Smackover by 10 or so.

Let everyone know? It was on my profile page until last month when I changed it to whatever age it says now lol

Razorback Red

Warren lost a lot, but I would be surprised if they still don't have more overall talent than Smackover.  Warren is also accustomed to big games early in the season so I'll go Warren by 10.

Proud Buckaroo

Smackover returns three on offense and 8 on defense. I'll know the next two weeks how well the replacements are doing on the o- line. Beau Burson got a lot of reps in this summer with 7 on 7, and camps. His field vision has gotten a lot better. I cannot wait for this game.

I was one of those junior high kids when I started....now im at the ripe old age of 26 and my oldest daughter will start kindergarten next week...needless to say I've wasted A LOT of time through out the years on here...at least that's what my wife tells me.

HorseFeathers

I did post my age this week....but its not like I've hidden it lol.... pb, 12th man, big lion and several others are younger than I am lol

I'm 20, so that is a true statement

Age is just a frame of mind. Johnny Depp, Michael Jordan, and I were born the same year, and the same day as SNL alum Rob Schneider.
I do have Peter Pan Syndrome.
I refuse to grow up.
I'll be that guy in the nursing home that's always pulling the fire alarm, just to experience a little bit of freedom, after my family has me committed.

Get committed to the one I worked in while in school at tech....they had a woman make it 6 blocks to kroger on foot before there staff even noticed she might be missing...

****side note most of those nurses no longer work there as the nursing home sold out and new owners cleaned house

I could see it happening. Could also see it the other way too.

I Just think smackover is to inexperienced upfront and at the qb postion to beat a team like warren... Warren by 2 scores

In experienced? Warren will be breaking in 19 new starters.....And some freshman will be starting

benchwarmer99

It's warren. They will be good every year. They just reload.

WPWells

That right there was a circular argument

Loyalfan1

Thing I see about Warren is on weaker season they will take some lumps early but by late weeks their young kids seem to improve at such a fast pace.  They will look like a totally different team by late Oct as compared to late Aug.

I agree with this.

PA Dad

I will say this about both teams:  they are not afraid to schedule tough competition.  I admire that about any coach.

nastynice

Warren wins in the last seconds. Scoop and score or last second drive, one of the two.

We return some experience on defense this year. I think it is going to be our strong spot. There are some playmakers on the line, linebackers, and secondary. Should be a fun game.

macadoshis

I'm anxious to see if Smackover picks up where they left off.

I see the Bucks winning this game.
What will hurt is only having 4 days afterward to prepare for JC.

I had that same thought.  One potentially tough game followed by another in the same week.   Hope the powers that be who scheduled that know what they're doing.   Hopefully no injuries on either side
