Charleston crushed everyone in conf play last year, can they do it again this year. They lost Storey, Posky and King, but they've got a lot coming back too.

Lamar is the preseason favorite with a ton of players returning, can they handle the pressure?

Booneville loses everyone but a couple linemen, they will struggle to finish 3rd, but all tough games are at home.

This is how I think it will end up at the end:

1. Charleston  They will be a lot better than you think.   8-2
2. Lamar        They got the horses, but lose to the Tigers in a close one. 9-1
3. Booneville  They lost everyone , will struggle most of the season. 7-3

1. Chucktown (7-0)
2. Lamar (5-2)
3. Booneville (5-2)
4. Paris (4-3) possibly (3-4)
5. Two Rivers (3-4) or (4-3)
6. Lavaca (2-5)
7. Mansfield (1-6)
8. Danville (0-7)
I think either Lamar and/or Booneville will get upset by somebody this year. And I didn't pick non-conference games

I like the way you think, Longfellow

1. Lamar (7-0)
2. Chuck (6-1)
3. Booneville (5-2)

Everything else looks right.  I just really feel this is the year for Lamar.  New look Warriors surprise alot of folks on their way to an undefeated season.  Including some of our own fans and administration that don't have as much faith in some of our players.

I think Charleston is going yo be in a dog fight in multiple games. However I think they pull it off in the end and go undefeated. Going to be TOUGH at Lamar and Boonville. This group of guys know how to win close ones though.

Don't sleep on Danville.  They return a big line, receivers and a super talented QB.  They will push the top 4 teams for seeding in the playoffs.

I don't know whos hometown they're from most of the time OLDSCHOOL.  Some nights they seem to be calling 100% against of and other nights they just seem lost.  I'd love to see another crew in there myself.  So i can't argue with you there.

I agree.  Sometimes it seemed like they would just call horribly one way to mess with the coach, and then switch for a series!  Mostly leaned home, but overall horrible.  That crew doesn't need to be reffing anywhere!

OLDSCHOOL82

I've said it before, Lamar should take it this year on paper.  Does that mean they will, No.  They have the size to do well, if they run the right offense to fit it.  Charleston will be talented as well, they just wont have a guy like storey to put it on his shoulders.  He was argueably one of the best high school quarterbacks to ever come out of Arkansas.  Booneville, will have a very large, strong line with 0 experience in the back field and not an extreme amount of overall speed.  Paris will be talented, and Danville could sneak up.  All in all, it will boil down to who wants it the most.

BigLion10

bigcat72

In my opinion, if Lamar runs the three yards and a cloud of dust offense they will be hard to handle.  They need to run it to try to cover some depth issues and limit the time the defense is on the field. If they do this I can see them winning the conference. If they try to open the offense up I could see them losing 3 conference games maybe 4.

I can promise you that you'll have to do a double take and make sure is says Lamar on the jersey, because this years team will look NOTHING  like last years team.  we didnt have that 6'5 pro style QB move in so we had to change the whole offense.  Will definitely make use of the big boys up front.  And the big boy toting the mail.

The QB is going to shock a lot of people.  The O & D line will be very good as well as some incoming sophs on the edge will provide some really good support for the QB.

I will say I am predicting a 17-7 non conference record for the 4-3A.... quite impressive for a 3A conference.

-Painted Fan-

Impressive?
Not really.
Booneville- Ozark, Dardanelle, @ Ark. Baptist
At best- 2-1. At worst 1-2
Charleston- Shiloh Christian, Prairie Grove, @ Ozark
At best 3-0. At worst 0-3
Danville- @ Dardanelle, Mt.Ida, Bigelow
At best 2-1. At worst 1-2
Lamar- Clarksville, Subiaco Academy, @ Perryville
At best 3-0. At worst 3-0
Lavaca- @ Union Christian, Elkins, Waldron
At best- 3-0. At worst 2-1
Mansfield- @ Waldron, Greenland, @ Mena
At best 2-1. At worst 1-2
Paris- @ Centerpoint, Waldron, @ Pea Ridge
At best 2-1. At worst 1-2
Two Rivers- Hackett, Perryville, @ Atkins
At best 3-0. At worst 2-1
As a conference, at best it will go 20-4. At worst, it will go 11-13.

If you want "impressive", then all the teams should be playing a schedule in which there's a chance of them having a losing record in those games.
This is like saying "I'm impressed" when Arkansas puts UT-Martin on their schedule- a team the Hogs should beat by at least 60 points.

Lets just hope they don't lose to a 5th place, 5-5 record 2A team in Bigelow this year..... Danville IMO will go 0-3 in non conference before they upset one of the top 3 in their league. I'd be worried about beating the two 2A teams on their schedule before you worry about beating Charleston, Lamar, or Booneville.
