Hopefully the news columnist that wrote that is prophetic.

As nice as that will be, that is still ridiculously expensive.  I remember when I used to get mad when prices were about $1.65

I'm 18 and my Junior year when I started driving, I could almost fill my car up with a $20 bill.  My gas light would be on and I could take a $5 dollar bill and use it to get up to between a 1/4 and 1/2 a tank.

I also remember my frosh. year there was a point where gas slipped down to $0.98 in this area.  What I wouldn't give for that again.  I have a 14 gallon tank which means I could fill up for $13.72.  Now $13.72 gets me barely a 1/3 of a tank.

Chief_Osceola™

When I was in high school (1996), I could fill up a '73 Chevy truck for $10.

Bones17

i wish i could do that now.  Although it would only get me 500 feet down the road with my guzzler.

According to my check ledger the cheapest I paid in Arkansas was at Pampa Oil in Stuttgart Ar back in 1983  .62 cents a gallon.  So it is $2:01 more today than it was 23 years ago.   WOW!!!   cheapest gas I have ever bought was 56 cents in OKC in 1991 I had 3/4 of a tank when I found it.  :'(

We are down to $2:61 in Cleburne TX today.

That makes me sick.  Why exactly can they sell it for so cheap, and we can't?

Lions84

Gets me it is alot cheaper in the deep south and in the Mid west for some reason.

Chief_Osceola™

It could have something to do with the cost of living.  Since it is much lower here and in the Midwest than the east and west coasts, it stands to reason that gas prices will be lower.

Texarkana_Piggie

2.57 walmart
2.60 exxon on state line

Lions84

It dropped some more ;D   $2:52 at HEB Cleburne TX 4:30 pm today.

jacketpride07

$2.59 in Damascus. $2.71 here in Clinton.

PercussionMan

$2.62 in Morrilton; $2.66 in Conway; $2.53 in Russellville...and no, I don't go driving around wasting gas to find who's cheapest!!  LOL!!

retiredlion05

$2.69 in Searcy.  For the first time in a while, it is below $2.70+.

Boingy

Here's a funny.  The generous State of Arkansas raised the mileage rate for workers who have to drive during business hours up to 42 cents a mile "temporarily until gas prices go back down to $2 a gallon."  I don't see that happening any time soon!   ::)

SingleWingGuru

2.65 now here in the Great High Plains.

arkie_3_fan

Finally went down to 2.77 either late yesterday or early today in Warren.  Rediculous!

jacketpride07

Down to $2.67 in Clinton. Thinking maybe it will go down even more for all the wagon racers and fans in town for the weekend.
