Guessing here but I assume it is because they lost head to head to both FSSS and Catholic.

That is my guess as well, but I'm certainly not the expert in tiebreakers.

Didn't Northside beat Catholic earlier in the season?  Isn't worse case for Northside that both they and Catholic finish 2-5 and Northside has the head to head tie breaker?

Yes if both of them finish 2-5 then NS will be the 6 seed and Catholic is out. This would even happen if there is a 3-way tie between Cabot, NS and Catholic. Catholic would still be the odd team out due to fewer points in the 3-way tiebreaker.

The only way Catholic makes the playoffs is with a win over Central AND a NS win over SS. If those 2 things happen, Cabot will be left out because Cabot and Catholic would be tied with a 2-5 record and Catholic wins the head to head.
