For whatever reason, they are TERRIBLE on my game.

AB™

I just love seeing '51.5' in the games behind column.  That's awesome.

RHS

I'm on a current game break since I started watched Seinfeld DVD's last night.

Yes.

RHS

Back from the break fools. Just got done completing a 3 game set with the Rays (still the Devil Rays on my game, lol).

Game 1:

For a guy with 89 speed, Smallenberg can't steal a base worth a crap. Terrible baserunning ability.

Next up I have the Twins.

bulldogs1159

So, as your minor league scout, have you decided to try and acquire those players I told you about?

RHS

I tried to pick up Zambrano, but they didn't like the guys I was offering, despite them being better in some catagories and younger. Baez is nowhere to be found so I think they traded him away at some point.

Played a game with the Paw Sox last night and I think I scored the most runs in a game that I can remember.

Pawtucket 17-20-0
Buffalo       4-6-0

Damon 3-5, 3 R, BB
Vazquez 2-6, 2 R, RBI
Benson 3-6, 3 R, 7 RBI
Uribe 3-6, 2 R, 4 RBI
Pond 1-5, 2 R, RBI, BB, K
Lewis 2-4, R, BB, K
Jacobsen 2-5, R
Maurer 2-5, 2 R, 3 RBI
Sobkowiak 2-5, R, RBI, K

Perez (W, 2-2) 8.1 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 3 K, 2 HR allowed
Moss .2 IP

2B: Damon (1), Maurer (1)
HR: Benson 2 (28), Uribe 2 (42), Pond (25), Sobkowiak (3)
RBI: Vazquez (28), Benson 7 (83), Uribe 4 (83), Pond (58), Maurer 3 (20), Sobkowiak (11)

The game was fun for a number of reasons. I think their starter only last 3.1 innings after Maurer hit a bases clearing double in to 4th, which capped off a 4 run inning.

The 5th was even better and I wish I would have written down my at bats for that inning. Benson got 2, 3 run shots that inning where I scored a total of 8 runs and chased his reliever. I tagged the next guy for 4 more before he settled down and I only got 1 more run after that.

I also discovered that Juan GOnzalez is alive and playing on my game as I kept a splitter up and he took me deep. Brian Roberts is also playing AAA ball for some reason and his a 2 run bomb int he 9th.

Ramon Baez is the shiznit. He started my first season in Palm Beach & was in the big club's starting lineup 2 seasons later. I like Zambrano as well, but he doesn't have near as many hitting hot zones as Baez.

I was checking the Springdale Cardinals, my AA team, out last night and wondered how in the heck I was pwning people. (Through sims) I have three or four current major leaguers in my every day lineup signed to minor league contracts. Brandon Inge is Springfield's clean up hitter. Guess I need to start working on player development. LOL

Lol yea I told Kirk about those two because I remember how awesome they were from my game.

Still alive and kicking. I was shocked as crap when he came up to bat and laughed. I think his HR was in the 5th.

Juan Gon was around in 2005. Don't forget that this game is 4 years old.

I'm currently in the year 2008 though in my dynasty though.

Yeah but I'm guessing Kirk is at least a few years into the "future" on 2005.

Like I am in the year 2011 on my 2006 game.

I didn't think about that. His last season was 2004 or 2005 I believe, but he doesn't turn 40 until this year, so in baseball years he retired fairly young for a position player. He is my favorite non-Brave of all-time and one of the more underrated players of this generation.  I can't believe it's been 4 or 5 years since his last season in the bigs. That means he was "only" 34 or 35.

RHS

Well I broke out the ol baseball game last night and procedded to get shut down by Johan freaking Santan and the Twins, 1-0.

I think Santana went 8 1/3 IP fanning 12 of my guys. His pitches include:

100 mph 4 seamer
96 mph cutter
93 mph slider
73 mph change
71 mph circle change

I did manage to get a leadoff triple with Derksen in the bottom of the 8th but followed that up with :

Pujols IBB
Manny lined out to 2B
Nixon popped out to shallow LF
Mueller grounded out

RHS

Played a heck of an AAA game last night that went 13 inning.

My SP went 12 IP, 10 H, 1 ER and struck out 12 but got a ND for all his efforts. I brought in a reliever for the 13th and he gave up 2 singles to start out. I got the next batter to ground out to 2nd, but it allowed the runner to move up a bag each. So on a 1-2 count to the 4th batter of the inning he hits a slow chopper down the 3rd baseline that my 3B gloves and comes home with. His throw pulls the catcher away from home and I lose 2-1.

msubulldogs21

Wow, that really was a great game.

How long til the playoffs?

RHS

I think I'm still about a month to a month and a half away from the playoffs since I took such a long break from playing.

I've already been trying to figure out what I'm going to do in the draft. Whether I continue to take the top pitching prospect when it comes around to me or if I'll draft some IF/OF guys to replinish my farm system since I'll probably move a couple guys around this off season and let some starters go.

RHS

I think I held onto Schilling for too long. Hasn't been that great in his last few starts for me and has taken 3 straight losses now.

It all happened in the 4th inning against the White Sox this last time out. I was in the bottom of the 4th when I hit my button on the pitch meter too soon and he left a fastball up over the plate and got taken yard. I figured I was still OK after that since it was only one run, but I was wrong.

The next batter up singled and then stole second on a close play. I got the next batter top pop out so I was feeling good with 2 down. Then he stole 2nd base, got a single up the middle which scored a run because Juan Pierre has no throwing accuracy what-so-ever or I'd have been out of the inning since the ball beat the guy to the plate, it was just 5 feet up the line. He got two more singles after that to load the bases and then poked a weak hit into LF which scored 2 runs to make it 4-0. It would have been 3-0 but Manny's throw was up the line and would have nailed the guy had it been on target.

Well I wasn't quit finished. I mounted my own rally in the 8th with a SF by Pujols and followed it with a double, single and double to make it 4-3. I had the bases loaded with Derksen at the plate and he promptly flied out to end the inning and I had nothing going in the 9th.

3-2 in my last 5 games but I am a lock for the playoffs, which are about 35-40 games away.

My AAA team is also a lock for the playoffs and even my AA team is in a fight to make some noise as they're tied for the lead in they're division.

RHS

Oh, Pujols is still batting over .400. I think he's at .410 for the season right now.

Cub fans, you'll be happy to know the Cards are in 5th place. You won't be happy to know that you're in 4th. The Pirates, yes THE PIRATES, are in 2nd behind the Astros.

DC, if you read this the Mariners are leading the AL West.

I'll try and post complete standings later.

RHS

Updated the standings on page 1 in the first post. The AL Central is a joke. The NL Central just makes me laugh.

I'll try and update stats later.

dc24

Let's go M's!  haha, I'm freaking tired of the Angels in every way.

RHS

I looked again today and they're now only 1 game back in the WC. Then again, so are the other two teams listed.

Also, I'm one game into a 3 game set with the Angels so I'll help you out, lol.

dc24

Haha, please do, I'm getting sick and tired of seeing them win in real life and video games.

RHS

Time to post some game recaps I guess.

vs White Sox (Game 2) W, 11-2

WP Miller (19-1)
LP Wilson (1-6)

Juan Pierre 2-5, 2 RBI

Derksen 2-4, HR, RBI, 2 R, 2 SB
Pujols 2-3, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 3 R, 2 IBB

WP Clement (18-2)
LP Lewis (12-8)

Pierre 2-4, R, SB
Derksen 2-4, RBI, 2 R, SB
Pujols 3-3, HR, 2 RBI, 3 R, IBB

If you're keeping track, that's 3 straight games with a HR for Albert. Didn't think he'd get it until they changed pitchers in the 9th and pitched to him.

vs Tigers (Game 2) W, 7-2

WP Webb (24-0)
LP Maroth (4-12)

Pierre 1-4, R, 2 SB
Derksen 2-4, 2 HR, 2 RBI, 3 RBI
Pujols 3-4, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2 R  (4 games with a HR)

Nixon 3-3, 2 dbl, 2 RBI, 2 R
Kearns 2-4, HR, 3 RBI, R
Womack 3-4, 2 R

Yes, you read it right, EDGAR RENTERIA hit 3 HR's in a game for me. The pitcher I was going against had 100 mph heat and a 97 mph 2 seamer so it was just fun for me. Chased him from the game after 1.2 IP when it was already 6-0.

vs Angels (Game 1) W, 13-0

WP Miller (20-1)
LP Tankersly (6-9)

Derksen 2-4, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2 R
Pujols 1-3, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R, BB (6!!!)

Derksen 2-5, HR, RBI, 2 R
Pujols 3-5, HR, 2 RBI, R (7!!!!)

Mueller 2-4, HR, RBI, R
Miller 2-4, HR, 3 RBI, R

Wolf 7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 8 K

RHS

Down to 4 games left in A and AA. My A team is 3 games out of first with 4 games to go. A major blow when I lost in the bottom of the 9th 2 games ago and I don't think I'm gonna make it. Also lost again when the team in 1st dropped a game so screwed myself there.

In AA, I'm 2 games up with 3 to go and look to be locked in there.

Only a month left in my MLB season before the playoffs.

AB™

Are you playing all of your A, AA, AAA, and MLB games?

RHS

For the time being I'm just playing A and AA. AAA and MLB teams are a lock to make it so I just sim those.

Won my A game today. 2 games back with 3 to play, lol.

Winning my AA game, which would put me, at a minimum, of 2.5 up with 3 to go.

RHS

Well my AA team is into the playoffs. Up 2 games with only one left. My A club isn't so lucky. Down 1 game with just 1 game left and I'm not even playing the team in front of me so I have to hope they lose. Threw a CG, 3 H, SO in the last game to stay on pace.

RHS

Started the playoffs today and am facing the Twins in the ALDS. The other AL matchup is the Rays vs the Mariners (I think).

Anyway, I won game 1 8-3. Started my scoring out with a RBI single by Pujols, who drove in Derksen after he stole second. Made it 4-0 on a 3 run bomb by Trot Nixon in the 2nd. Pushed it to 6-0 when my catcher hit a 2 run bomb and then Austin Kearns belted a letter high change up over the monster to make it 8-0.

Webb went the distance for me. Was cruising along really until the 9th when I gave up a 3 run jack just over the wall in RF. Struck out 6 for the game, allowing 8 hits and the 3 ER.

Oh yeah, thw Twins opening pitcher was Kyle Lohse.

RHS

Played game 2 and won it today, 6-2.

It was a pitchers duel for most of the game between Johan Santana and Randy Wolf. I managed to get a 2 run homer with Derksen in the bottom of the 3rd off of a slider in my wheelhouse. Other than that, he shut me down until the 8th when I was able to chase him from the game.

Santana lead the inning off by walking Randy Winn. Juan Rincon came on in relief and Derksen smashed a double into the R-CF gap to score Winn and make it 3-0. Pujols came up and got walked and then Juan Pierre, batting CLEAN UP, hit a 3-R HR over the monster to make it 6-0. Next 3 batters came up and got sat down.

Wolf probably would have had a CG SO except I screwed up trying to catch a fly ball and it dropped. He ended up being tagged for 2 runs before I yanked him and brought in my closer, even though it wasn't a save opportunity.

Pitching lines for the starters:

Wolf (W, 1-0): 8 IP, 5 H, 2 R (earned) and 8 K
Santana (L, 0-1) 7 IP, 3 H, 3 R (earned), 4 BB and 13 K

Player of the game would have to be Derksen. 2-4, 2 R, 3 RBI, double and a HR.

msubulldogs21

Nice games.

Juan Pierre hitting cleanup?

RHS

Yeah, that's a glitch. When I was simming some games to speed things along at the end of the year, someone got hurt on one of my teams you have the option to "Fix Manually" or "Auto Fix." Well, when you hit auto fix it shuffles your entire organization around and moves people to different spots in the line up. I caught it for the first game, but missed it for the second one so Pierre played left, Winn was in center and Manny was on the bench, lol.

Schilling was supposed to go in game 2, but I've had trouble getting past the 6th with him the last few times I've pitched with him and decided to go with my best 2 pitchers to open things up. Schilling will go in game 3 for me so we'll see how he does.

Also, I'm up 2-0 in my AA matchup as well. The first game I won 2-1 and the second I teed off on the pitcher and then held on late to win it 6-4. My relief guy I brought in gave up a 3 run bomb and I yanked him after that and let my closer get a 4 out save.

RHS

Climbed to even in the AAA playoffs with a 3-1 win tonight. Lee Jones, a stud prospect I'll probably call up next year, went 7 innings giving up only 1 run to get the win. About to play Game 3 of the MLB series.

RHS

Won the ALDS last night and advanced to play the Devil Rays. What's funny is that the NLCS is an all NL West matchup between the Dodgers and Giants.

Won my first game against the Rays, 4-0. Was 2-0 until the 8th when I chased their pitcher from the game after stringing a ground rule double and some singles together. Their reliever came in and gave up another run to make it 4-0. Derksen hit a solo shot in the first for me and Webb went 7 IP, giving up just 1 hit and striking out 7 for me.

In other action, I'm up 1-0 in the AAA finals, and 1-0 in the A final for my league. AA starts soon for the finals.

I've found out I'm loaded, both with SP and RP, throughout my organization.

msubulldogs21

I'm surprised the Rays made the playoffs. I mean, we're talking about MVP '05 here.

RHS

I think technically I'm in 2007 right now, possibly 2008. I'm actually excited about the end of the season so that I can make roster moves.

RHS

Clinched the ALCS today in the Tropicana Dome in a fun and exciting 3-1 game.

Pujols had 2 solo blasts off of Kazmir (one to dead center and the other down the LF line) to give me an early 2-0 lead. Wade Miller was cruising along until the 6th and ran into some trouble. I dinged Aubrey Huff (on purpose) and it almost came back to bite me on a glitch in the game.

Every now and then, the computer will hit a scorching ground ball through the hole between either my 1B and 2B or my 3B and SS and it'll actually beat an outfielder to the wall. Normally that's fine, unless it's Carl Crawford hitting it with his 100 speed on my game. So he smacked one through the hole between 3B and SS and it rolled to the wall where Juan Pierre picked it up. Huff was moving on contact since it was with 2 outs so I think he'll score. Juan Pierre gathered the ball in, threw to Derksen since he was the cutoff man. While throwing the ball in, I notice that Crawford is digging for 3, so Derksen flips it to Mueller who tags him out before Huff crossed the plate. Crazy play.

In the top of the 9th I got an insurance run off of a suicide squeeze where Austin Kearns of all people was the man on 3rd, and Pierre dropped the bunt down and I slid in around the tag.

I used 6 total pitchers, 4 of them just for the 7th and 8th innings alone.

Going to start the World Series tonight where I get to play the Dodgers, who beat the Giants in 5 games.

msubulldogs21

Nice job. I bet you're just itching to get to the off-season to see the FA pool and everything.

RHS

Yeah, now that I know I don't have to offer like 5 years, 50 million to get people. I can just offer 4 years 12 million and get someone like David Wright.

I'm already up 2-0 in the series. Won the first game like 6-2 and the second game 9-1. I think between both games I've drawn 12 walks from their pitchers. Odalis Perez walked Randy Wolf, TWICE!!!

RHS

Won game 4 last night, 2-0. Freaking pitchers duel between Wade Miller and whoever they threw. Got one run in the 3rd and another in the 8th on a solo shot by Derksen, who ended up grabbing MVP honors.

Got fleeced in the FA market. All of the top guys I really wanted, except for one, signed elsewhere despite me having the best offer to one of them. I managed to sign some SP for my lower level teams so hopefully that'll help them out. Somehow I managed to end up with Justin Dechscherer but he's burried down on my AA team, lol.

Already my starting catcher for the Sox is out for 60 days with a broken arm, so that's a blow.

Oh, I did have a decent draft. Got the top catching prospect (lost 2 from my AA squad and another from A so I needed one) and some good pitching and IF prospects.

Curt Schilling and Tony Womack decided to hang the spike up, along with Doug Mirabelli (he was in AA). That allowed me to bring up a 2B (who probably isn't ready) and Lee Jones, my pitching prospect I've been waiting to move up for a while now. Had his first start and went 7 fanning 7.

So I probably just got done playing the most exciting game yet in my dynasty. No, not a close game with a great ending, but a complete whipping in the AAA level.

I won a game 19-3, in which 17 of my runs came via the HR. In the 6th inning, I went yard 4 times in a row, scoring 5 runs from them. The very next inning, I went back to back to back again, scoring 3 runs. Don Uribe, my SS who I might call up later this season or next year, had 4 bombs and 7 RBI. All in all I hit 11 homers, by far the most ever in a game for me.

The 3 runs I gave up were via HR's, so 20 of the 22 runs came from bombs and there were 13 total HR's.

Was freakin fun.
