QuoteFinally looking like a full slate after around half a decade...!

Ozark: One of my favorites this season, with both grades full of talent. Two things to note, though: two of the freshmen have been promoted to varsity this season (literally unheard of in Hillbilly country), and the 8G will have to transition from the I to the Shotgun.

Pottsville: My other favorite, with at least a talented 8G group. That bunch gave Ozark its toughest game in 7G play last year.

Dardanelle: The Lizards had a strong finish last year, and could be one of the more experienced groups this season.

Booneville: Should be solid, as always. It'll be interesting to see how they fare with the Class of 2019 moving up.

Subiaco: I see they're trying to field a JH team again after an apparent few years off. Should help the program in the long run, regardless of degree.

Waldron: Year 2 in the current system. Let's see how much they progress.

Dover: Will they improve from last year's 3-6 campaign?

West Fork: ...I got nothin'. Anyone know how they fared last year?

I voted for subiaco

When Booneville isn't old-school enough...  ;D

x14113

A solid look for OJH in its scrimmage with Huntsville, scoring 38 points between three phases of play. Interestingly, While the Gun was used in live play, the I Wing was constant in the scripts.

Let's see how it all plays out one week from Thursday.

I admit I know very little about JR high teams. I have a 7th grader playing for Pottsville so I should before long.  I do know Pottsville has a pretty big and talented JR high team.  The 7th grade has some really good skill players, but not much on size for line.

DARD 30 Chucktown 12

JR HIGH
DARD 28 Chucktown 18

Should've been 28-12 since the first chuck TD was thrown to the LT who was covered up and therefore not eligible to go out for a pass.

Gray lizard

Pottsville JR High 36 or 38 Fountain Lake 22.
7th Grade Pottsville 6 Fountain Lake  18.

Pottsville JR high is huge.  That is about it.  They scored at will.  Two touchdowns to start the game off and had only run 1 offence play.  Went up and played 2nd and 3rd string teams.

One note Fountain Lake has a larger 7th grade team than JR high team.

Ok give us more on that!

x14113

It' concerns the Rams adjusting to our procedures. And they wouldn't be the only ones that would have to.

I'll discuss the details on a new thread.

AAA Procedures?

(Nevermind, I see the explanation thread now)

x14113

No, where the 8G plays.

Ramsey groups them with 7G, we put them with 9G. Due to that, the 8G Rams had the game off tonight.

Sigmund Sauer

Yeah that seems odd, didn't realize some schools even did that.

Pottsville Jr high was handled by Shiloh Christian(only saw 1st half 26-0 I think at half).
7th grade also 20-0.

Shiloh seems solid at all levels so far.

Looks like the consensus is a three-horse race between Ozark, Booneville, and Dardy, with Pottsville not far behind. And with that...

Pottsville beat Booneville in OT. My understanding is booneville kicked a PAT to win the game 13-12 and the officials blew the call which made it go to OT and Pottsville won.

Interested in hearing more about this.

I left after the 7th grade game.  So I did not see it.  But in missed field goals no one has the view of the kick than the two Refs standing on each side of the post.  The game film is at least 60 to 70 yards away.  No matter what you think you see they are standing right at the goal post. Just keep that in mind.

Bad break on a tight game.  Hats off to Pottsville as they are solid.  Our Qb broke his collar bone late in the second.  A HB went down with concussion like symptoms!  5 fumbles for pottsville, 3 lost for Pottsville helped things. But yes, a good extra point, called no good was missed.  White hat apologized after the fact but that doesn't help much for the boys.

Ck the endzone cam from Pottsville.  It has a view from 10 yards away!!  You have a boy in seventh?  I do as well.  Actually, I have them all over the place!!

Only video I see is from visitor side press box.  I looked at it frame by frame and could not tell.
I did see Pottsville needs some work on ball control for sure.

Not often you get an apology from a white hat, that's pretty telling.

So what are the match ups this week.
I know Pottsville goes to Dardanelle

The Pottsville 7th grade team played Morrilton Monday.  Morrilton went up 14 pretty quick.  Pottsville came back to tie 14-14.  With seconds left on the clock halfback pass for 70 yards and Morrilton won 22-14.
