Who are some of the top athletes in each weight division? What are some of the records?

This is a quick, off the top of my head (not a comprehensive list) summary of top wrestlers by weight class:

103 - kid from Catholic
112- Justin Arnall (Central) Soph & defending state champ, Brandon Powell (Bryant) 2 x runner-up
119 - Lusby (Conway), Zack Simmons (Bryant - been hurt),I know there is more, just can't remember
125 - Tyler Kurz (Cabot) Soph & Defending State Champ
130 - Tanner Mann (Central) 2 x state champ & best wrestler...simply put, he's a machine..Paxton Fowler (Heritage), Nicholas Kurfess (LRC)
135 - One of the toughest classes in the state - Dylan Arnall (Central), Jonathon Apple (Searcy), Cole Bundy (Heritage), Kyle Wheeler (Cabot), kid from FS Southside, Brett Blend (Bryant)
140 - Henry Reyes (Russellville) Defending state champ, Jackson Myers (Conway), Luke Hutson (LRC), Conner Goshein (Bryant)

pretty good run down from the top of your head. I'm going to add to the list and tweak it a bit. My nephew is on the conway team and I live in Northwest AR now so I see a little bit more of it.

103 -- Rick Schaefer's boy from Har-ber. Not sure if he has lost yet. He is the best in the state. Chambers from Catholic is a good one too. Smith from Central and Johnson from Russellville are up there as well.
112 -- Powell from Bryant, Arnall from Central, Corpier from Searcy, Baysinger from Fayetteville are the top.
119 -- Arroyos from Fayetteville, Lusby from Conway, Robert Lewis from bentonville, Claros from Springdale are probably the top 4 but you have to also consider Humphries from Rogers.
125 -- Kurz from Cabot, Lusby from Conway, Ritcheson from Mountain Home, McCarty from Jonesboro, Visser from Bentonville, Ensley from Fayetteville, perea from Rogers are probably the top
130 -- Mann from Central. Give him the trophy now. McMurtry from Heritage, Ferrara from Catholic, several others will compete for 2nd. I heard Fowler moved -- not sure but heard that rumor.
135 -- Arnall from Central, Apple from Searcy, Thomas from Fayetteville, Dooley from Southside, Bundy from Heritage, Blend from Bryant, Wheeler from Cabot
140 - -Myers from Conway, Reyes from Russellville. Everyone else is wrestling for 3rd. Myers beat Reyes at CAC. Egle from Catholic will be top 4, and the Searcy kid is real tough. Myers is 34-0.
145 -- Alexander from Conway, Mann from Central, Daly from Fayetteville, Chavez from Northside, Gonzales from Bentonville ( but he may be at 152 -- he's been up and down all year) Alexander is 30-1, with wins over Reyes, Mann, Daly, Gonzales. His loss was to Mann the first week of December.
152 -- Baker of Fayetteville, Shiew of Conway (beat Baker at Conway), several other solid wrestlers --- wide open weight class.
160 -- Coonce from Heritage, Bell from Searcy, Rukgarber from Fayetteville, Dakota Lewis from Van Buren, Bell from Cabot. wide open weight class.
171 -- McDowell from Bentonville, Anderson of Fayetteville, brady from Bryant, Veneble from Heritage, . I would have put Thompson of Conway in there (won CAC tourney) but he lost a wrestle off to the kid who has been wrestling up at 189 and will not be entered at state. Thompson is 26-7 on the year according to the paper with wins over McDowell. wide open weight class.
189 -- Toughest weight class by far --- Lee from Bryant, Larsen from Bentonville, Lann from Southside, Kid from Har-ber, Kid from Fayetteville, Ramey from Cabot, Cox from Catholic, Siler from Searcy, Guise from Central, Starich from Mountain Home , pianalto from Heritage, --- probably be Lee and Larsen in the finals but any of those guys can upset the others.
215 -- Bowers from Fayetteville -- #1 hands down. Searcy kid is good and so is sturgeon from Cabot. Gomez from Heritage is a beast. Har-ber has a good one too.
285 -- Negrete from Fayetteville, Depeel from Bentonville, Hoggard from Conway, Usifo from Central, Pledger from Cabot, Kotch from Conway, --Those are probably the best 6 even though conway can only enter one at state. Hoggard is 22-2 and Kotch is 20-4. Pretty impressive by Conway heavyweights.

This is just my opinion and is large school only. I'll leave the little school guys up to someone who sees them regularly.

My state prediction: Fayetteville, Central, Heritage, Conway, Bentonville, Cabot, Searcy,

OW 103-130 --- Tanner Mann
OW 135-160 --- Dylan Arnall
OW 171-HWT --- Larsen or Lee --whoever wins.

I agree--Reyes beat Myers Wednesday. It was the best first period of any high school wrestling match I have witnessed. Several shots, close to take-downs but each kid kept hitting switches the moment they hit the mat so no one could ever gain control.

they will face each other tomorrow --wish I could be there to see it. Hopefully I can make it to state to see the next one.

Wow, I didn't know that. I'm pumped to see them wrestle again Saturday. Corven Alexander & Tyler Mann is also a potential good matchup. Mann broke his wrist the last time he wrestled & has not wrestled since..Powell & Arnall @ 112 will also be good...

I'm really looking for Conway to possibly take the whole thing. If not, someone from the west will grab it...............I'm not sure any other Central Arkansas team is strong enough to contend for the team title - just too many holes in too many lineups..........
