I've made it a few times.  Its not much fun, but there's worse drives.  Like up the windy mountain roads to Harrison.

True, Iv'e done the HWY 7 Scenic route to Harrison a few times. Did they ever make HWY 79 over the White River wider or better up around Clarendon ?

They were working on the roads last time I went through there but I don't believe new bridges are in the plans. Those things are really NARROW.

I wonder why the schedule dictates Hope now plays both Hot Springs schools in Hope ?  We used to split it with at least one trip to Hot Springs a year. Kinda like we do with WC & WH.

Probably for the same reason the schedule dictates that both Hope and WC play at CF the same year. Talk about a favorable schedule even WITH a new HC!!!

That is the way that the schedule has always been.  CF was at Hope and WC in 2013, so now both come to CF.

Hope has yet to prove they're more than a one-hit wonder, and WC's barely made the playoffs the past two years.  Having both of those at your place in one year isn't that big a deal.

That loss to White Hall really hurt the Wildcats last year. If the cats had won that game, there would have been a dead even 3 team tie in the 5A South.

Lionheart88

And losing to Hope did the same thing to White Hall, kept them from a three way tie for a share of the conference title.  We can play the "what if?" game all day long, but it doesn't change the facts.  Chapel's consistently been the fourth place team in both years of this conference's existence.

Agreed. They haven't been what they were in 6A, that's for sure. The last couple of years there, the El Dorado - WC playoff games even had many El Dorado fans saying those (El Dorado & WC) were the best 2 teams in the classification.

The last 2 years in the 6A, WC made good runs into the playoffs but were eliminated By El Dorado in close games both years. Not sure but I believe both years were semi final games. After Lonnie Sutton retired in the 90's, WC made a huge mistake when they hired Baggett and the program suffered badly because of it. They haven't had a team come close to being as good as that State title team that Ron Johnson and the late Bobby Jett played on. That was a LOADED team.

If you call .500 in 2008 a good year, your bar is set low.  My bar says 2009 was there only good year in 6A.

Wrong they went 4-5-1 in regular season and the 6A in 2008 was rainwater weak.  Still not much better today.  Dude, do some research before you type.

SECFOOTBALLFAN

6A is rainwater weak?

Why do you say Big Fan? Because all your 8-4A teams would totally beat the tar out of Alma, Lake Hamilton, Jonesboro, Texarkana, Pine Bluff, and El Dorado week in and week out?

Very favorable schedule this year. I see we dropped Wynne or maybe they dropped us?

Given that Wynne had to go out of state to find a replacement, I'd surmise that Vilonia dropped the series.

True, I'd bet it was Vilonia who dropped it. But Wynne playing Tunica, Mississippi Rosa Fort High isn't a power move up in their schedule. But I'm sure NO ONE IN NEA wanted to play Wynne.

We'll play em.  Twice if need be.

It's not fair to pad your schedule.

Would be lovely.  Maybe use it to replace that regular non-con hole in the schedule Newport left.

They did add West Memphis, which should be a great series.

Newport wimp out of another series?

Not lately, but there's still a hole there.  WM series may not go past two years.

The_Pioneer

I'm sure WM will hit too hard and hurt too many of those precious Greyhounds to continue it.
